The article WiFi-Where has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Can't find evidence for notability, unfortunately.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -Britta Dreamyshade (talk) 06:03, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of WiFi-Where

[edit]

Hi! Thanks for helping with the article about WiFi-Where. To show notability, we'd need to find more than two sources for the article. Do you know of any other potential news articles about WiFi-Where? I couldn't find any when I tried to look, but I'd welcome help. Otherwise I'd suggest expanding coverage of this piece of software within wardriving, including the App Store removals, and redirecting WiFi-Where to that article. Another helpful approach could be adding a summary to App Store (Apple) about Apple's handling of wardriving applications, linking to the wardriving article. Also make sure to review all the guidelines at WP:GNG, especially WP:SIGCOV: "Significant coverage is more than a trivial mention, but it does not need to be the main topic of the source material." Mentions of WiFi-Where can be helpful as part of sourcing various claims, but they aren't sufficient to show notability. Dreamyshade (talk) 01:38, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Good to also note Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidance: Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. It's best to disclose if you're affiliated with the project in some way. Having a conflict of interest is not necessarily a blocker for participation, but it generally means you have to disclose your affiliation and ideally stick to discussions on talk pages, instead of making direct edits to articles about things you worked on. This is meant to reduce bias in the project. Dreamyshade (talk) 02:35, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
