Hello, I'm Red-tailed hawk. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to Jesse Falcon because they seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 01:05, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

HI Red-tailed hawk. I was in an improv group with Jesse and a few other folks who have wikipedia pages and was just trying to add more background to their early comedy roots and the group, Mother that they were in. I'm also trying to establish a page for myself which doesn't currently exist. I'm cited on a bunch of other pages, but they link to someone else with the same name who isn't a comedian but is an Australian footballer. Any advice? Hi Cewal21. I saw your post at the Help Desk but decided to answer here because Help Desk threads get archived very quickly and can be difficult for you to find again. Judging by your the Help Desk post and sandbox, you are a Christine Walters but not the Christine Walters for whom we have a brief article already. That is not in principle a problem, since when/if your autobiography is accepted into the encyclopaedia it can be distinguished from the existing one. The much bigger problems are described at WP:AUTOBIOGRAPHY: it is immensely difficult for any new editor to immediately try to create an article to the standards expected and, worse, providing the necessary citations to acceptable, reliable sources for any information you include is even harder. Before going any further, please read our policy on the requirements for biographies of living people and the guidance we regularly give about trying to write draft articles backwards, which I can see is exactly what you have done so far. It is vital that you start by finding reliable, already-published sources for anything you write. Unfortunately, IMDb, for example, simply will not do for Wikipedia, since it is user-generated.
I can possibly help you produce an acceptable draft but you need to supply sources which conform to our golden rules and demonstrate you are notable in the specific way that's defined here. Do you know of any? If you want me to comment on possible sources, then place them into this thread. Regards.
P.S. Since you mentioned wanting to have a biography and posted at the highly visible Help Desk, beware of scams. Mike Turnbull (talk) 15:44, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
