I'd like to add a personal note. Please don't be discouraged by this process. I, personally, like the fact that you're willing to write about a Christian group. We need more writers who'll take on the subject. But, please keep in mind, this is an encyclopedia, and as such we want to keep it as professional as possible. Please consult the Wikipedia:Manual of Style for more details on how you can write an effective article that will remain permanently. Also, be aware of Wikipedia:Notability (music) and make sure that the subject of your article will meet the minimum standards for an entry, and that such notability is documented in the text of the article. Again, please don't be discouraged. If you need any help or guidance, please click on my name at the end of this note, and then click on the "dicussion" tab to get to my talk page. I think we posted about the same time...Don't really know about the search engine issue. I typed in the full name of the article, and it came up. Typed in "Chi Rho" and it went to another page, because there's a redirect page for that. I'll see if I can't improve that. Akradecki 01:02, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I just dropped a note on the talk page for the article that has info on the copyright issue. As for the style, no offense, but it still needs some work. Check out the article for Burlap To Cashmere...see how the headers are arranged? The lists? Links? That's what makes a WP article. Akradecki 23:20, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Wow...never mind...a Wikipedia administrator just cleared the article on both counts...unusual that the copyright issue was cleared so easily. Cool! But, please do keep working on improving the style. Akradecki 23:26, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Great job! The article is terrific now. I did a little clean-up copyedit. If I remember right, the phrase A capella is properly written italicized, since it's Latin, so I did that; if I'm wrong, let me know and I'll change it back. One note if you do future articles: instead of using the little bullet symbols, use an asterisk (*) that way the lines automatically break without having to use the break code. One of the things that makes Wikipedia work is having links from other places, so I made sure that there were active links from the Univ. page, as well as the general list of collegiat a capella groups. In fact, an article can get flagged for not having links to it. If you want further work, Wikipedia allows for seperate entries for albums, so you might want to consider doing that, as well (find a good album entry and copy your style after it; The Prodigal Son (album) is a good example). Also, I noticed that the University has other a capella groups...if they have the reputation that your group does, you might want to consider writing about them. Lastly, if you need a church in California to sing at someday, let me know!!! Akradecki 00:56, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, now a search using the phrase "Chi Rho" works better. Akradecki 01:11, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, you made the same mistake I catch my daughter making when she's doing algebra - forgot to close the brackets! All you were missing were the "}}" after the producer line. And don't worry about so many messages...I'm enjoying this.... Akradecki 01:52, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, one more little point of style (I don't mean to get too picky...). It's WP style to italicize names of books, albums, songs, ships, etc. To italicize, just put two single quote marks before and two after the word/phrase. Akradecki 01:55, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Usually, when there's a common phrase like The Promise, there will be a "disambiguation" page (I love the words that get made up around here!) so that everything can be sorted out. There's one for The Promise. There's now one for Chi Rho, which is how I got the search to work better. So, if you go there, you'll note that there's no article entitled The Promise (album). In fact, as the link I just typed should be showing red, all you have to do is click on it to start you page. Once your page is up, go to the disambig page and add an entry and a link to your new page. Simple! Akradecki 02:01, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

According to the album project guide page, you include the artist's name, so I updated the disambig page, and set aside this link for you: The Promise Akradecki 02:19, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and as for learning WP, I've been editing for a while now. Learned mainly by trial and error, making mistakes, and disecting other articles to see how it's done. Akradecki 02:21, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Another thing: this page Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums will be helpful to you for conforming your entries to the standard. Akradecki 02:23, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do any of your albums have the song I'll Fly Away on them? I'm trying to decide which one to order. You've got me intrigued! My high-school daughter sings in her Christian school's choir, and we all love this kind of music around here. Akradecki 02:31, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi...sorry I disappeared. Had to do family stuff. Anyway, you don't need to make a disambig page for free. Free already is one, there's already a couple of albums listed. But, just in case you need to make one in the future, you just make a regular page and you put a disambiguation tag at the bottom. The tag is simply the word disambiguation with two { at the front and two } at the end. Search strings on Wikipedia are case sensitive...I just checked and saw that Chi Rho went to the disambig page, whereas Chi rho didn't...but I fixed that. I'm off to bed, but if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask...I'll be up tomorrow. Akradecki 05:12, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Free (Chi Rho album), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Hello. Since the group's article was deleted, I've prod'd the albums. If you have any questions or concerns please let me know. Thank you, Fang Aili talk 05:06, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Cover6.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Cover6.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --ARTEST4ECHO talk 20:26, 16 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Fenuxecarcover.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Fenuxecarcover.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 00:00, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Fenuxelogo.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Fenuxelogo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 06:09, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki Loves Pride 2014[edit]

Hi Calktm3. In case you are not aware, there is an upcoming campaign to improve coverage of LGBT-related topics on Wikipedia, culminating with an international edit-a-thon on June 21. See Atlanta's Wikipedia:Meetup/Atlanta/Wiki Loves Pride 2014 for more information. We are expanding the LGBT Atlanta, Georgia pages. This would be a tremendous help to Wikipedia and coverage of LGBT culture and history. Thanks for your consideration, and please let me know if you have any questions! --tdempsey (talk) 06:59, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article Josh Hobgood has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. | Naypta opened his mouth at 19:28, 26 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Josh Hobgood, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
