March 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Lucille Ball, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This is particularly important when adding or changing any facts or figures and helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Your sources don't support the text you added. NeilN talk to me 00:44, 25 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add or change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to Lucille Ball. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. NeilN talk to me 13:15, 25 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did to Lucille Ball. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Asher196 (talk) 14:49, 25 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I see I'm not the first to notice your edits to Lucille Ball. Others have suggested how to go about making correct edits, so giving you the benefit of the doubt as a newcomer, I'll point you again in a couple of directions. 1. All information must be sourced to a reliable third party. For further info please read WP:CITE. 2. We do not add original research. For further information please read Wikipedia:No original research and finally 3. Please do not add substantial content as a minor edit. Minor edits mean exactly that - you've changed a word or two, or you've corrected spelling or punctuation. Not that you've added an entire section of two lengthy paragraphs. If you need help please ask, but do not ignore the messages left on your page here, as they direct you to guidelines and policies that will help you if you continue to edit here. Bottom line is that if you make an inappropriate edit, sooner or later (probably sooner) someone will reverse it, so it's better to get it right first time and not waste anytime's time - including your own.
