Username[edit]

Since Bruno Latour died a few weeks ago, your choice of username would seem to be OK per WP:REALNAME, except for people who are unaware that Latour died - not everybody follows the news constantly. However, I would suggest that you read through the WP:REALNAME guideline and add some content to your WP:USERPAGE, e.g. to make it clear that Latour died, or that you respect his research very well, or that it happens to be your own real name, or something else to clarify that you're not him to a reader who hasn't noticed that you can't be him. I haven't looked at username debates except extremely rarely, so this is just a suggestion: read the policy, browse previous cases and use your common sense. :) Boud (talk) 15:48, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Being familiar with Latour's work, I was startled to see a new editor with his name as their username. You might consider changing it to a name less identified with another, real person. Liz Read! Talk! 05:06, 16 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
