Hi Bridgedragon! Dr. Karl notwithstanding, what Hamilton Laboratories were marketing in the 1930s was a sunburn cream, not a sunscreen, as exemplified by this advertisement Hamilton Laboratories Advertisement which promises painless tanning, i.e. does not block UV radiation.
