For the record, the sentence is in Porphy's version but is followed by "However, they fall into the fallacy of failing to distinguish between disagreement with American policies, however vehement that disagreement, and expressed contempt for American culture, society, people, and/or history." This is blatant POV and turns the previous sentence into a straw man. It's just bad writing. And then, of course, the quotes are shoved in willy-nilly, are too long, and don't flow in the slightest. I don't have a problem with a sourced, to-the-point sentence to qualify the last sentence as it stands. Finally, I've added a welcome below to help you familiarize.
