If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on GlobaLex, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Your request for undeletion[edit]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that a response has been made at Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion regarding a submission you made. The thread is GlobaLex. JohnCD (talk) 19:32, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you[edit]

JohnCD. Thank you for your reply. I understand and have some ideas. I think I need to created an article on the type of law that utilizes GlobaLex rather than an article that starts with GlobaLex. I'll give it another shot. Thanks for your help.

File copyright problem with File:AALL Law Library Journal icon.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:AALL Law Library Journal icon.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 01:37, 17 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Advice[edit]

A little more advice, as promised, which may be helpful even if you start on a different type of article. Even where a company website doesn't actually say "We are the best! Buy our cheap widgets!" it is still likely to be promotional in the sense that it is telling you what the company wishes to say, not what an encyclopedia reader might wish to know, and is saying things about the company's state of mind and intentions (e.g. GlobaLex: "is committed to" this and that and its tools "will continue to expand to cover" the other). When writing, you need continually to remind yourself that you are not writing for your subject, you are writing for Wikipedia about the subject. When making any claim, remember that the Wikipedia:Verifiablity policy is that: "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source", and imagine a hostile critic saying "Who says? Can you prove that?"

You may find User:JohnCD/Not a noticeboard helpful. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 21:25, 17 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reply[edit]

Thanks JohnCD. I realized that the voice has to change entirely to that "encyclopedia" voice. I think I'm getting the hang of it and understand the problems that I made in my first attempt. Thank you for the additional info. You admins have been helpful, patient, and professional.
