Hi Bill

I deleted Jermaine rogers [sic] for a number of reasons.

  • It did not provide independent verifiable sources that it meets the notability guidelines. It is now wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have proper references. Although there were references at the end, they were self-created or web-only publications of dubious reliability. Because they were not formatted as in-line citations it was also difficult to see what facts they were supporting. If you rewrite, also note bare urls are hard to read, it's more helpful to format reference like [http://www.jermainerogers.com Official site], which appears as Official site
  • The article has no wikilinks to other articles, so we can't check whether the people, groups etc are notable enough to have their own articles. A lack of links also suggests that the text is cut-and-pasted from a possibly copyright source. If he's so famous, th
  • it's spam, full of unsourced claims, which need independent verifiable sources if they are to remain Examples:
  • rose to notoriety
  • this genre has achieved prominence as a major component
  • influential 1990's Texas poster-art scene
  • He is viewed as a key persona in the modern resurgence of the art form
  • Rogers is also recognized as one of the significant forces in ....
  • The figure was an immediate critical success and introduced Jermaine as a relevant player in the blossoming movement
  • This figure was also a success and cemented Jermaine's place in the genre.
  • Rogers has achieved a significant following...
  • Rogers' artwork has been featured in various books... documentary films ...publications.... So let's have the details, page numbers and isbn numbers for the books, details for the films so we know they are proper commercial productions and not Youtube do-it-yourself jobs, dates for the magazine issues (and links to on-line pages if they exist). You are claiming all this as fact, so give details of your sources.

Hope this helps, the guy is clearly notable, but this isn't a proper encyclopaedia article Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:45, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
