Welcome!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Benlisquare/Archive 1! My name is Ryan, aka Acetic Acid. I noticed that you were new and haven't received any messages yet. I just wanted to see how you were doing. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it uses different formatting than other sites that use HTML and CSS. In the long run, though, you'll find that the WikiSyntax is a lot easier and faster than those other ways. Here are a few links to get you started:

There are a lot of policies and guides to read, but I highly recommend reading over those first. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Please be sure to sign your name on Talk Pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, along with a link to your user page. This way, others know when you left a message and how to find you. It's easier than having to type out your name, right? :)

I hope you enjoy contributing to Wikipedia. We can use all the help we can get! Have a nice day. Sincerely, Ryan. 05:34, August 2, 2005 (UTC)

AMD

Benlisquare, I saw your edit over on AMD (disambiguation), but your addition does not have any links to any other pages in Wikipedia. Disambiguation pages are meant to help people get to where they're trying to go. Are you going to write an article about AMD as a CS clan? - grubber 18:57, 9 November 2005 (UTC)

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Playgear Pocket.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. RE: Need sources for "Anti-Japanese sentement" - Popular culture in China. help?

I don't have satellite TV, (and barely have cable for that matter). So I don't usually watch/read Chinese news. I'm far more interested in the ghosts of a bygone era and its forgotten stories of strife and heroism. /melodrama

I have a few poorly-made pseudo-socialist piece-of-crap anti-Japanese flash cartoons that my friends sent to me, if you want. Some pretty interesting photos of the last great anti-Japanese riot (that there are Japanese in China to begin with is an indication of the inconsistency of the application of their "principles"), and a few articles blasting these guys. There are some bao-diao (ie. protect diaoyu dao) groups from HK and ROC with their websites, but I don't think that's what you're looking for.

Nothing official of course. The CPC (Capitalist Party of China), in a dazzling display of saving face and spinelessness, is willing to sell out their people for a few coppers. Some bao-diao websites (that threaten vigilante action) are banned for example, and they lick Japanese boots (clogs, I suppose) hoping to get a morsel from the booming Japanese economy, which, coincidentally, is revitalized ENTIRELY by China.

You probably didn't ask me to rant. So I'll stop. Don't think I can help you there. Besides, I'm not sure what you would qualify as "anti-Japanese" websites. A site which documents Japanese war crimes? That seems to qualify under the criteria of certain people on Wikipedia. Or does it have to spew some pretty vitriolic anti-Japanese venom? -- 我♥中國 15:53, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:20052008467.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:20052008467.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 23:15, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Mozilla Firefox unicode / font change

Hi,

The talk page isn't a forum, so I've removed the comment you recently added there. This change was implemented to make it easier to debug Unicode issues, along with being in line with the W3C recommendation for what to do when a glyph can't be displayed. In your case it looks like you need to switch fonts. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 13:45, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Fu Yan Jie, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Fu Yan Jie and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Replaceable fair use Image:Maki horikita.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Maki horikita.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. DAJF (talk) 04:03, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

Capricorn

Thanks for your active contribution to Wikipedia. I would like to apologise for causing quite a war to heat up between the both of us over the use of Simplified or Traditional Chinese in this English Wikipedia, but I am not "disrupting to illustrate a point". I would like to point out to you that there are many Wikipedias in different languages for different users around the world, including English, Simplified Chinese and your Traditional Chinese. I think that we should standardise on the Chinese used in the English Wikipedia and the Chinese that is more commonly used around the world is the Simplified Chinese, which, as the name suggests, is simplified and easier to use and understand for the people using this English Wikipedia than Traditional Chinese. Once again, I stress that I am not disrupting to illustrate a point but making Chinese understood more easily by the people using this Wikipedia. If you do not mind, you can start, or continue on it if it is already there, the article Capricorn (album) on the Traditional Chinese Wikipedia. Thank you for your kind understanding. inyrface (talk) 15:13, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Versions of map

You replaced this map (File:Tenka Han (zh).png) with a new version of the map created by PhiLiP (File:Tianxia zh-hanj.svg, File:Tianxia zh-hant.svg, File:Tianxia zh-hans.svg). However, the user PhiLiP created three versions of this map in svg; one in Japanese, one in traditional Chinese, and one in simplified Chinese. Since according to the map's source desciption, the original map was a Japanese map, in which all three maps were based upon, I figured the Japanese version would be the best version. I would argue that there is no apparent reason why we can't use the Japanese version, as it is created by the user who also created the other two Chinese versions, and I thought it is the closest to its source material.

I would also suggest you to write appropriate comments in your edit summary and discuss such matter with the other editor if you have problem over the edits.--Balthazarduju (talk) 08:43, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Your argument is invalid. If I were to write an article on the Battle of Britain, would I have a map of events written in Russian? If I were to have a depiction of Mayan glyphs, would I place it on the EN Wikipedia in Swedish? Regardless of whether the Chicken or the Egg came first, these terms are Chinese terms. It would be illogical to place Japanese maps on the English Wikipedia regarding a Chinese concept. Chinese and Japanese are not the same. Those words on that image do not mean the same thing in both Chinese and Japanese. For example, the Hanzi Character for "Chicken" in Japanese means "Penis" in Chinese, "Machine" in Chinese as "Table" in Japanese. Assuming that it is alright to use Japanese in this sense is utter ignorance. This is an Association fallacy of the worst kind. You have edited without justification, reason or negational evidence, and is therefore a Argument from ignorance, and I condemn such acts. Regards, -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs 09:34, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
Additionally, the usage of Simplified Chinese characters are more widespread than Traditional Chinese characters. Traditional is used only in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau, while Simplified is official in the People's Republic of China, Singapore and Malaysia, while also being the official Chinese script as recognised by the United Nations. Number wise, about 20 million people use Traditional, while 1300 million people use simplified. Also note that the sans-serif-font of the Simplified Chinese version of the image looks more visually appearing than the brush woodblock print font found in the Traditional Chinese version of the image. From a small size (i.e. thumbnail), the brush font is ugly and difficult to read, while the sans-serif font is more distinct. Unless they manage in creating a sans-serif-version of the Traditional Chinese image, I see no need in the usage of Traditional Chinese; such a font coupled with a complex stroke system is a poor choice, given the size of the thumbnails. The detail of the Traditional characters can barely be made out from such a font at such a small text. The shadowing used behind the text also makes it difficult to read behind the dark thin lines of the brush font, especially the blue font, as compared to the thicker sans-serif font. -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs 07:12, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Hi! It seems that in Wikipedia, the traditional Chinese characters are more widely used in articles dealing with ancient Chinese history and in historical maps (as oppose to articles and maps dealing with contemporary China). I actually have no strong opinion against it or for it (unlike many users on Wikipedia who "hates" simplified Chinese characters, judging from their template boxes). If you want to express your view on this issue concerning Chinese characters used in China-related articles in Wikipedia, you should probably put your view about this issue on Wikipedia:WikiProject China.--Balthazarduju (talk) 02:21, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Re PoA: The official script in Singapore is Simplified. And yes, Overseas Chinese communities use Traditional, but exactly how many million would that make up? -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs 04:07, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Re Balthazarduju: I don't mind whether its Simplified or Traditional; I just think that a sans-serif font is better than a thin-brush stroke font, especially in tiny thumbnail images. -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs 04:09, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Hi Benlisquare, as this file was deleted after a deletion discussion you cannot just recreate it but must contest it either with the deleting administrator (Stifle) or at deletion review. I've deleted this again as a recreation of material previously deleted after a discusson (see WP:CSD#G4). - Peripitus (Talk) 02:00, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

The only real change was the addition of a rationale "To depict the meme on its respective article. Used fairly. Image is of low resolution and quality." - this does not address the points raised in the deletion discussion. What you need is an argument that it meets all of the ten non-free content criteria. THe issue is that it can be replaced with a free image of the product and that the advertisements can be (and are) described in text...so the image fails the first criteria - Peripitus (Talk) 02:17, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

"Grumpy-wumpy"ness aside, you've most certainly misread my edit comment. Here's how my descriptions match up with the sources.

  • CHNQiang = extremist, nationalist website
  • VenChina = Chinese-Venezuelan website
  • Blog.ifeng = blog
  • bbs.cctv and bbs1.people = two blog posts.

So as you can see, the PhoenixTV blog does not correspond to the "extremist, nationalist" label that I used. I would also like to point out that info coming from a blog on the PhoenixTV website, where anyone can register for a blog of their own, isn't quite the same thing as info coming from PhoenixTV.

But since you seem to like the PhoenixTV blog entry, I have gone and looked up the source, which is here:

http://www.taiwanthinktank.org/ttt/attachment/article_976_attach4.pdf

There's no other way to look at this: the blog entry is WRONG.

  • This is not a KMT thinktank but a pro-Green thinktank.
  • The 2012 date is not a KMT plan; it is a worst-case scenario, fear-mongering projection.

I would also like to point out that one of the forum posts (the one on People's Daily) repeats the same erroneous claim as the PhoenixTV blog, and that the Venezuelan link is broken.

So now, the tally for the sources in that paragraph stands at:

one extremist nationalistic website + one venezuelan-chinese news site (link broken) + one blog entry that is patently wrong + one forum post that repeats the exact same erroneous claims + another forum post.

I will remove the paragraph again, as I did before, unless you object.

This is obviously not a reliable source in and of itself and I don't see any evidence that they got their information from a reliable source themselves, so do you have any objection to me deleting the page and redirecting it to a page such as pornography ?

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Horikita Maki 04 small.jpg.

Thank you.

Naming Laws in the People's Republic of China

Nice article! I added the WikiProject China banner to the talk page.--Pericles of AthensTalk 02:38, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Nice. I also read a few months ago that more and more couples are starting to combine their last names (similar to hyphenation on Western names...for example, if 张三 and 李四 get married, they might use 张李 as their child's family name) because the 100 or so common names are getting saturated. Unfortunately, I don't remember the exact citation, but if I can find it I'll let you know; it might be worth mentioning in the article.
Also, I had never heard of the 赵C case before, that's pretty interesting. Reminds me of 阿Q ;) rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 02:46, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Welcome!

Classical Chinese

Thanks for your understanding.

First of all, the textbooks of the schools in PRC are not the original sources of the articles. During most of the Classical Chinese period, from Han dynasty to ROC, the articles written by Classical Chinese used the Traditional Chinese characters.

Secondly, the Simplified Chinese characters have combined some Traditional Chinese characters with different meanings together, which violated the original meaning of the Classical Chinese articles.

At last, I think that I should not use the term "must", but as an encyclopedic article, we should try to make it as accurate as possible. Maybe we can list the Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese characters simultaneously?--Itsmine (talk) 11:07, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

I agree with Benlisquare here, I don't think this is entirely accurate. There may be rules about use of traditional characters in Taiwan (I wouldn't know) but certainly not on the mainland. I myself learned classical Chinese in simplified characters. In any case, the most important thing is to maintain consistency within and across articles, and as far as I know most of the major articles on Chinese language here are using simplified characters. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 13:13, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
OK, but Classical Chinese Wikipedia uses Traditional Characters. I think we should cater more to that than to Vernacular Chinese Wikipedia. Also, users of Vernacular Chinese Wikipedia can switch everything to Traditional or Simplified. Asoer (talk) 05:40, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
What?? Classical Chinese is a dead language. 文言-wiki doesn't really dictate what we should do here, and the fact that it uses traditional characters doesn't mean there's some kind of rule (for all we know, it just happens to be that way because it was started by editors from Hong Kong, for example). There's a Latin Wikipedia, too, that doesn't mean we have to pay attention to it. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 10:52, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

The best thing to do is just to add stuff to the article as you find it. When you do find something, then mention it at the AfD - there's still a lot of time. Copying some photos to Wiki Commons

Hello,

You have posted quite a few valuable photographs to the English Wiki, but I feel that they would be more "visible" if they had been posted to Wiki Commons as well (or instead). Namely, the photos from User:Benlisquare/Gallery#2008_Chinese_Winter_Storms could fir very well in commons:Category:2008 Chinese winter storms, where there are only a few photos from the last year's snowstorm season so far. This way, the images could be used not just in the English wiki but in all other projects as well. Of course, when posting to Commons, we have to pay attention to their license rules, which may be somewhat different from the English wiki. Thanks! Vmenkov (talk) 01:48, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Unfortunately, it's impossible to embed an image posted to en.wiki into an article in any other wiki - the image has to be on Commons. Besides, another advantage of having the image on Commons is that it's easier to find, due to Commons' well-developed category structure, and links to the appropriate Commons category (via the "commonscat" tag) from various languages wikis (as I've just done in zh:2008年中国雪灾). As to the licenses, if you've taken the picture itself, and it does not depict anything that's "copyrightable" on its own (e.g., not a photo of a modern painting), you can just pick a GFDL or CC license from the license selection box during uploading. If it's done by someone else - e.g., a family member who agrees to you uploading the image under such a license - I guess you can just pick the same license, indicate the author's name in the appropriate field, and mention somewhere (in "Permissions", I guess) that he's your family member and has authorized you to release his photo under such-and-such license. I've done it once with a photo sent by my brother. Now, in some cases - such as, uploading a picture that has appeared somewhere on the web already - other Wiki Commons editors may request confirmation that the author of the photo has really released it under a GDFL/CC license; in that case you'll need to have the author to send a special email to OTRS (they have a multilingual procedure for it). But I think usually such verification is not asked for. Vmenkov (talk) 04:03, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
I understand. OTRS is a pain to use - I wish they had an easy web UI, without the participants having to actually compose and send long messages. Thanks anyway for your response. Vmenkov (talk) 09:03, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

(my corrected edit) But, The Chinese sites' claim, based on the image, is 'fake'.
The Korean article explains the photos like this ;
After the incident, Korean citizens were explaining to news reporters how violent the chinese rioters were to them, showing the tools used by the Chinese. They said "Chinese were using these tools. They hold up the bicycle and tried to strike us, like this."(They were mimicking the Chinese rioters' action in front of the news reporters) However, Chinese internet users fabricated a story with the images and claim that Koreans attacked Chinese students with the tools.
(my corrected edit) Following the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake, Some Koreans posted Anti-China comments on the Internet, which was originally caused by Chinese students' riot during the Olympic torch relay in the capital of S.Korea. Although almost every Koreans posted condolence to the Chinese victims[39], Chinese internet users ignored the fact, and spread nothing but some Koreans' Anti-Chinese comments. They've neglected the same kinds of responses from Japanese users.Japanese netizens also posted Anti-China comments throughout forums on the Internet,[40][41][42][43] Chinese Internet doesn't pick Anti-China comments from Japanese. and only pick bad comments from S.Korea.

"A content fork is usually an unintentional creation of several separate articles all treating the same subject. Re [6]: Quoting examples from unreliable sources and drawing conclusions from them is precisely the definition of Original research. I deleted the section about the Sichuan Earthquake because it claimed to draw conclusions about Chinese and Japanese internet users at large based on a few forum posts. In fact what should be done in this case is to rely on the examples which have been presented in reliable sources and the conclusions which those reliable sources have drawn from the examples, not coming up with one's own summary of a bunch of unrelated forum posts. cab (talk) 11:48, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

100% right. so, i remove your blog-like source. and this source also prove my edit.[[11]] Cherry Blossom OK (talk) 12:45, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
I don't think essay is relaible source. i already said, I can make TONS of dirty image(SARS, AIDS,Bird-Flu,Blue-eared Pigs, Poisonous Dumplings, Toys, chocolates & Toothpastes, Selling criminals' organs, Killing innocent Tibetian monks,Picpockets, Fake products & Disneyland, No human rights, No freedom of speech and assembly, a bunch of chinese industrial spies & illegal immigrants, environmental pollutions and distructions, prostitutes, ...) of China by essay and blog-like sources. if you think like that, then You must not disturb me. OK? Cherry Blossom OK (talk) 12:47, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
It depends who writes it. If it is some 13-year old Japanese nationalist, it is not an essay, but a blog. If it is by a professional, someone who is certified in that area, and officially publishes the essay, that is a credible essay. There is a big difference between an essay and a blog. For example, if Hu Jintao writes an essay about economic policy, that is credible. If User:IsorokuYamamoto writes a blog about how gay Chinese fags are, it is not. -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email guestbook complaints 12:51, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
if i am a 50 years person, i write hate china article, in my blog, then it is acceptable? So Many Japanese blogs claim that tibet must seperated from China. then it is OK claim?
rjk it blog. it is not a credible essay.

"20 million prostitutes. In Shenzhen, just as in all other Chinese cities, the prostitution phenomenon is expanding as fast as the Chinese economy. At the lowest level, the prostitution market is frequented by hordes of young, single immigrants from the countryside who have invaded the cities in search of work, while at the higher levels it’s frequented by the new middle and rich classes with lots of money to spend and the high-levels of the Party hierarchy, who have always had a taste for this particularly type of luxury. Yang Fan, a Chinese economist, has calculated that there are at least 20 million prostitutes in the country, generating a income equal to 6% of the Chinese GDP. Apart from the show put on by the police in Shenzhen, it seems that the prostitution phenomenon is largely tolerated by the Chinese authorities. The girls themselves almost all come from poor rural areas where unemployment is very high, working on the streets, in bars, in the massages parlours, saunas and in all categories of hotel, both private and state-run. " [12]

this source is much credible than your blog-like sources. Cherry Blossom OK (talk) 12:56, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Age makes no difference. Referring to what I have said above, a professional, someone who graduated from University with a "I can write essays and get paid for it" degree. And it must be published, as in, in a credible journal (e.g. "global warming" essays in Science Journals, "Somali pirates" essays in Newspapers). Sure, sure, there are prostitutes in China, I cannot deny that, but is this relavant? Plus, I wonder if the source was actually officially published. And it seems that you are eating your own words. QUOTE: "this source is much credible than your blog-like sources." What happened to QUOTE: "Korea is not your enemy. Korea is friend of China."? You claim to be friendly and non-agressive, but your later words seem otherwise. See Two-face. -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email guestbook complaints 12:57, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Oh, and your comment seems to be an attack against me. Is it? I wouldn't be surprised if there were 30 million prostitutes in China, which would be 0.023% of 1.3 Billion. The proportions match that of Australia. Do you have a problem with there being prostitutes in China? And does this add any weight to your argument? -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email guestbook complaints 13:49, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
can you have any e-mail. i continue by e-mail. i don't want disrupt your page. Cherry Blossom OK (talk) 13:04, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

It will be archived this November, let's see how bit it gets. Right now it is 52,936 bytes. -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email guestbook complaints 13:07, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Hello

I just joined the WikiCHina project and am currently working on some articles. I've tidied up the China section of the Three-legged bird artcile and added in alot of info and references, but I feel that the 3 creatures described in the article should probably have their own articles and would like to request for a split. Would you know how I could do this? Thanks whipsandchains (talk) 01:57, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

DYK for Zhonghua Zihai

Updated DYK query On April 25, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Zhonghua Zihai, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Thanks. Sorry for the late reply, I was in Sydney for three days, in a hotel without Wifi or any form of Internet connection. Pfft, lame hotel. -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email guestbook complaints 06:58, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

WHAT THE FUCK

What the FUCK, I DID NOT give ANY PERMISSION for my photos to be copied from EN Wiki onto Commons, and then have the EN Wiki version deleted. NO PERMISSION AT ALL. I hope those responsible are able to explain this shit for themselves. I, the author, STRICTLY DISALLOW the usage of my photos on Commons, it gives me the SHITS when people are ignorant enough to ignore my requests. Refer to my EN Wiki talk page. This is a clear violation of my rights and my will to personal decision. Plus, I wasn't even fucking informed, or inquired in any fucking way. Very fucking angry, -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email guestbook complaints 02:25, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

You should probably leave a message with commons:User talk:Tm, the user who did the move. It's not normal to move other people's images like this without asking. If you leave him a message he may be able to undo the move and deletion, or find an admin who can. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 02:31, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
I'm just pissed. I've already contacted the user. I hate the guts of Commons. I have clearly stated my intentions in at least n+1 places on EN Wiki. I am boycotting Commons because the JP Wiki is run by 支那-bashing, POVed fags, and I completely disallow them to use my images. -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email guestbook complaints 02:34, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
  • Please AGF. The transfering needs a lot of time, and your screen name is clearly shown on moved pages. You're releasing your images under GDFL that means anyone can copy and use yours for any case. By moving them to Commons, your images can be more beneficially used. By the way, 밴댈 이곳에서 환영받을 수없습니다. -> 반달 사절 or 반달은 이곳 출입을 사절합니다. would be less awkward.--Caspian blue 02:43, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
支那-bashing?? What has Commons become? World War II era Japan? Lol. Seriously though, what bad experiences have you had with Commons? I upload nearly all of my images to Commons these days without much fuss (except for the occasional licensing dispute which usually gets resolved). In fact, look what I did for all the Chinese dynasty pages at Commons.--Pericles of AthensTalk 03:12, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
I've had my share of arguments with stubborn POVed editors on the JP Wiki. They use 2ch to swarm, and only accept their own interpretations of how the world rotates. I'd rather them not have access to my images. Sure, its pointless of me, but I've decided to have a personal boycott of JP Wiki and Commons. -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email guestbook complaints 12:17, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Navbox

Just so you know, the new code on your user pages is covering up (for my screen, at least) all the tabs in the upper left (history, edit, new section, etc.). You might want ty experiment with it on some other computers to try to get it so it doesn't cover up the top, because it makes it difficult for people like me to access any of the links. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 03:03, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

I've noticed that. On my home PC, it all works perfectly, while on a public terminal, it does not. I'll go over the coding and see what's going on. -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email guestbook complaints 03:04, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
There, done. I've fixed most of the bothersome HTML. How does it look now on your PCs? -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email guestbook complaints 23:39, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
Looks ok here. It's still causing problems on your userpage, but maybe that just hasn't been purged or something. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 23:43, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
