Speedy deletion of DC Drive (band)

[edit]

A tag has been placed on DC Drive (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Erik the Red 2 ~~~~ 02:08, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

DC Drive

[edit]

Hi. Thanks for creating the DC Drive article, and for commenting on its talk page when it was proposed for deletion. While notability might be argued either way, the real problem with the article is it was mostly a cut adn paste from here. Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text, which the Metrotimes article is. Could I suggest instead that you rewrite the article in your own words and repost it. I notice you had done some of this already, but most of the centre section of the article was still in exactly the same sentences as the Metrotimes piece.

Let me know if you disagree with the above, or if I can help in any other way. Euryalus (talk) 02:34, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problems. You're right about the Adrenaline article as well - will have a look at it now. I've put a copy of the non-copyvio parts of the article at User:Beanpole136/DCDrive with a link to the cache of the metrotimes piece so you can see the rest. I've also restored the links for your reference in working on the page, though as you're probably aware Youtube doesn't generally meet the guidelines for external links.
Let me know if I can do anything further to help. Euryalus (talk) 05:34, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Super Hits (Blue Öyster Cult album) for deletion

[edit]

A discussion has begun about whether the article Super Hits (Blue Öyster Cult album), which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Super Hits (Blue Öyster Cult album) until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 02:30, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
