Hi, please don't use your user page to develop article content, as it may get U5 speedily deleted as hosting violation, and in any case does not comply with WP:UP guidelines. If you wish to develop a draft, do so in your sandbox or in the Draft: name space. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 13:05, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

User:B.V.B.2025/Чек

[edit]

User:B.V.B.2025/Чек shows up in Unclosed quote in heading lint errors because of the markup

1 Real M
which should close the open bold with

1 Real M
The latter can be further improved; the left markup doesn't do anything, so why not simplify it to:

1 ESP Real M
This is fine on a user page, but of course in a real Wikipedia article, headings are usually plain text (no images) and without bold markup.

This page has many other issues that should be addressed, so I thought it would better to explain than to do myself.

Italics (), bold (), and bold italics () should always be closed. If you don't close these within a table cell, it will look like you got away with it, but it is bad practice.

Colors in hexadecimal digits should always start with a number sign (#). Something like color=FF0000 or bgcolor=FF0000may appear to work, but there are actually three errors in each of these. First, there should be a number sign. Second, there should be quotation marks around the color. Third, the markups are obsolete under HTML5. Here are the corrections:

color=FF0000 should be style="color:#FF0000"
bgcolor=FF0000 should be style="background:#FF0000"

Any one table row or cell can have only one style indicator, so if you have something like

style="border-top:3px solid" bgcolor=#2de79f

the two styles come together separated by a semicolon, like this:

style="border-top:3px solid; background:#2de79f"

It's best to put bold, italics, and colors inside positioning such as center, left justify, or right justify. So,

1 should be 1
191 should be 191

It may seem unnecessary, but it's good practice to avoid unclosed tags and to bring all markup into compliance with current standards. Anomalocaris (talk) 01:04, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
