Can you help me? My Twinkle doesn't work. ҢДM(Hundry Marquina!) 12:23, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Opera and Twinkle

Hi! I was wondering what version of Opera is Twinkle known to work with? I've just turned on the gadget, and it works fine on Firefox, but isn't working when I use Opera 9.27. Admittedly I might be having other problems as well actually considering some of the other unrelated gadgets don't seem to be working with Opera either. But in any case, it would be nice to hear from you if you have a clue on what might be the problem or if you actually have it working on Opera 9.27. Thanks :) Chan Yin Keen | Talk 19:39, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

We need your advice or instruction...

...on how to go about creating a medal here.

Your Jimbo medal is awesome.

We're kinda stuck. Hopefully you could help by pointing the way?

TWINKLE for new users

I assume that TWINKLE cannot be activated until I have achieved 'autoconfirmed' status? If I have edited my monobook file to do the full install, will TWINKLE automatically kick in when I become autoconfirmed? Thanks in advance. WikiKingOfMishawaka (talk) 19:02, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

twinkle (minor) bug report

just installed Twinkle on the most current version of safari - 3.1.1 (5525.20) - great scripts.  :-) two issues I've run across, though.

 • when leaving warnings, twink doesn't fully reload the talk page. it stops at an empty blue window, and needs to be refreshed manually
 • twink is slower than I expected by a good bit (not painfully slow, mind you, but markedly...). this might be normal, or it may be a Safari thing - I thought I should mention it.

thanks! --Ludwigs2 (talk) 20:50, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Deletion of Womex

Hi, I'm just curious, the Womex-article has been deleted about 18 hours (right after midnight, proposal was put into place around 18 UTC or maybe GMT+2, not sure) earlier than announced IIRC. Was there any reason for doing it earlier? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.195.55.215 (talk) 10:00, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

I deleted them perhaps a couple of hours too early, but if you want the article back, I'll undelete it. AzaToth 10:42, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
That'd be great. :) I wanted to improve the article in order to avoid a deletion. Thank you. --92.195.55.215 (talk) 08:52, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Sub-templates of Wdefcon unprotected

I've been admiring your coding, but don't forget to semi-protect Template:Wdefcon/styles/simple and any other loose subpages. Wnt (talk) 19:05, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Graphics design request

Dear AzaToth,

I'm preparing to co-coordinate a (big) collaboration/competition, and desperately need a high-quality medal to present as an award to participants. We are going to be developing over 200 outlines/profiles for Wikipedia, one for every country of the World. For this, we need an impressive medal (which will be awarded monthly throughout the project).

Would it be difficult or time-consuming for you to create a gold medal that looks real, has a world map (with latitude and longitude lines) engraved or embossed into it, with "Wikipedia" centered and wrapped along the top edge and "World Developer" centered and wrapped along the bottom edge (engraved or embossed in the same font used for the Wikipedia logo)? If the medal was hanging on a neck ribbon and swiveled slightly to the right (so the left edge of the coin showed), that would be especially cool.

Is this something you could create?

The event is scheduled to begin July 15th, and has already been announced. Three awards are under development for the competition: a globe, a medal, and a trophy. I'm confident that the globe and the trophy will be completed in time, but our efforts to create a realistic gold medal have come up short.

I need your help.

Sincerely,

The Transhumanist 20:19, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Twinkle

Could you change the text that Twinkle generates for WP:RPP reports so that it does not append a period at the end of messages (since people automatically assume that it won't) and also, add a space before the user's signature? Gary King (talk) 03:29, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

just in case

I noticed that you don't really respond to basic Twinkle help requests (I guess because you'd otherwise be busy with it all day), but just in case you're in a benevolent mood, I am attaching a link to my help request. Best, --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 05:38, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

 • I thought perhaps I could also draw your attention to two requests at WT:TW/RFA. The most recent is the more important of the two - an option to disable or configure how Twinkle leaves notifications on user talk pages. The other is my own humble request for optimization in the warning dialog - an ability to select "Blocking" by default - though I've already made my own custom version of twinklewarn which does this - I'd obviously prefer to keep using the stock versions to benefit from improvements. (My apologies if there's already a way to do this, I checked, and couldn't find anything in the documentation) Keep up the great work, love the tool, A+++ ebayer, would buy again. xenocidic (talk) 01:06, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Australian U-23 2008 page

Hi, just wondering why this page (Australia national under-23 football team 2008 Olympic Games campaign) was deleted. There was plenty of information there that was unique to that page, and not just copied from other pages. Examples like the Intercontinental Cup, Four Nations tournament, Players List and one-off friendlies would be useful to anyone who wants to view what happened during the campaign, especially after the 2008 tournament is over.

If you want I can just refer the sections, that "duplicate" other pages, to the original page and not repeat the information. It just seems too harsh to delete it, especially when that page has been there for at least a year and I've been updating it during that time. Perhaps you should take another look at it. Blackjanedavey (talk) 14:09, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

It was deleted as an expired prod, but as you contest now, I'm restoring it. AzaToth 15:39, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Bot

Hello. I'm StewieGriffin!. I am interested in making a bot, and was wondering if you could give me some advice. How did you do it? What did you read? After making a bot, what then? StewieGriffin! • Talk Sign 07:04, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

What needs cleaning in the SD-Card article..? Electron9 (talk) 13:46, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

I think I might have used a too generic template there, and that I'm sorry for. The problem I see is the subsection of "Different types of MMC/SD cards", that are too technical and complex. AzaToth 13:53, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
But you don't have to read it all. One reason is to show fact deniers how things actually are. Most of the easy to grasp stuff is in the ingress anyway. Electron9 (talk) 19:55, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

A script request

Hello. This is big, but, could you write a script for me? Or at least greatly assist me as I have zero experience with JS. I have this so far and I will work on an outline for what I need here. Please, I really am begging you, could you help me? :) Thanks, CWii(Talk|Contribs) 01:27, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Query

I need help renaming about 200 articles. Doing this by hand would take me all day.

Can your bot rename articles, or be adapted to do so?

If so, please contact me.

Thank you.

The Transhumanist 22:07, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

My bot it pretty much out of order, so perhaps it's best if you ask someone else. But if it's not possible, I can see if I can fix it. AzaToth 21:43, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Twinkle Defect

When I created a request for page protection of a high risk template it did not create a level 4 healine. you may want to look at this [1] and this [2]. thankyou. ElectricalExperiment 17:18, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Twinkle is not defect. please check the used templates before telling me that twinkle is defect. :( AzaToth 18:36, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
no didn't mean it that way i just meant that something went wrong in a rpp when i used twinkle. sorry. ElectricalExperiment 19:02, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

And just a heads up there changing the message boxes. please see Template:Tmbox. ElectricalExperiment 19:07, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Template:Lt

Thanks for the heads up on my mistake. I wish I knew how to add the interlanguage links without breaking the template. LyrlTalk C 18:45, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Oh Allmighty AzaToth (grovel gorvel) :-)

Hey AzaToth,

I'm just wondering if there is any plausible (and easy) way of getting twinkle to work on another wiki.   «l| Ψrom3th3ăn ™|l»  (talk) 15:04, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

That depends, some modules can be used right off, some are pretty much en-wiki-process-dependent, and need to be modified much. AzaToth 15:16, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
which modules can be used right of? —Preceding unsigned comment added by {} (talk • contribs)
The rollback module can be used directly, and the batch modules requires little modifications. AzaToth 13:47, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Solaris npov?

I see you flagged the Solaris article as npov, however, AFAICT, there is no dispute about it's neutrality. (You also left what appears to be a default WP:FRIENDLY comment, rather than a useful comment, eg. offering an explanation for your action.)

At first, I thought you were a newbie and was going to revert your edit, since there was no dispute, however, I noticed you are listed as an administrator, so at this point, I figure it's more likely I simply failed to find the dispute that was in such an obvious place you didn't consider it worth mentioning. :) Was the talk page not preserved when the article was renamed? Is there a dispute somewhere else? Note that the template specifically says, "Do not use this template unless there is an ongoing dispute." --Aij (talk) 19:38, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Had that discussion a week ago, though it must have slipped donw the archive here. AzaToth 14:00, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

TW-B-0013

Just a heads-up: I just added a kluge to User:AzaToth/morebits.js that should fix TW-B-0013. See my comment at the bug entry. Hopefully I didn't break anything. —Ilmari Karonen (talk) 13:07, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

looks like a lousy hack :) though hope it solves the problem. AzaToth 13:59, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
