Welcome!
[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. It's not clear why you're removing external links and categories from the page Cécile B. Evans. The sentence "She is known for challenging society’s notions" is not encyclopedic and neutral enough. "She moved from New York to Paris to Berlin and London throughout her adulthood, and has now settled in London" needs a citation to a reliable source. If you ever have any questions, come ask at the Teahouse. – Thjarkur (talk) 17:51, 9 October 2019 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Arianapm. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 18:02, 9 October 2019 (UTC)
- Going by their user page, I'd say they're a student editor part of a class. In any case, we welcome your contributions Ariana! It can take a little bit of time to get used to writing in the dull encyclopedic way and getting the hang of references. – Thjarkur (talk) 18:18, 9 October 2019 (UTC)
Tip
[edit]thanks for your recent edits! If I might offer a tip, sources like Art Agenda near the end fo the article are excellent as they are independent in-depth coverage. Gallery sources are lower quality as they are usually just reprints of what the artist tells them, and can sometimes be promotional in nature. In any case, nice editing!
