Nomination of Republican Settlement for deletion
[edit]A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Republican Settlement is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Republican Settlement until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. JohnCD (talk) 21:38, 27 July 2014 (UTC)
- I am sorry to seem unwelcoming, but Wikipedia is not for what I think you want to do: announce a new idea. It is not the business of an encyclopedia to provide a notice-board for new things: its role is to summarise what has already been published in reliable sources. So two of our fundamental policies are:
- Wikipedia:Verifiability: "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source"
- Wikipedia:No original research, which includes: "If no reliable third-party sources can be found on a topic, Wikipedia should not have an article about it."
- Linked to that is the inclusion criterion called Wikipedia:Notability, which requires evidence of "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject."
- If I am wrong, please add to the article references to sources where the term "Republican settlement" is used in this sense. I see that it is not mentioned in either of the existing two references. JohnCD (talk) 21:53, 27 July 2014 (UTC)

Your draft article, User:Aquaticscout/sandbox
[edit]Hello Aquaticscout. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "sandbox".
The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply {{db-afc}}
or {{db-g13}}
code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|User:Aquaticscout/sandbox}}
, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Rankersbo (talk) 21:51, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
