A tag has been placed on Xtreme Karate Performance, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. WuhWuzDat 15:35, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Josua Cruz requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

January 2011[edit]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. This applies whether or not you are logged in to the account you used to create the page. JamesBWatson (talk) 19:51, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Josua Cruz requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and providing your reasons for contesting on the article's talk page, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

You may want to read the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. Peridon (talk) 20:37, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As the article contains an assertion of importance I've declined the speedy deletion, but have replaced it with the a much slower ten day process, if this gentleman exists and is notable then there will be coverage of him in newspapers etc, add a link to that sort of coverage and you can remove the deletion tag. The article Josua Cruz has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. One question he has been in some articles, but I do not know if they are online. What can I do in this case? can I just state the name of the paper and page? Thank You Apoxz (talk) 04:34, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Apoxz, you can indeed provide details of the reference and the reference does not need to be available on-line (though it does help other contributors to verify the source if it is available on-line). Typically, you would need to supply: author name, year of publication, article name (or chapter name, if in a book), publication name (or book name), publisher (if a book), and ISBN if possible (if a book). Trust this helps. Janggeom (talk) 11:48, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Having taken a brief look at the article now, I think the key to establishing the subject's notability will be in providing reliable sources for this statement: "Sensei Cruz has represented Puerto Rico in an endless number of international competitions bringing glory and experiences that have enriched the Ryoshi Goju program." If he has won international-level championships, that will be a clear indication of notability. Please also note that if the article remains, it will need to be edited for style (e.g., all "Sensei" titles should be removed after the first mention, leaving just the surname; highly subjective statements like "bringing glory and experiences that have enriched the Ryoshi Goju program" will need to be made more neutral in tone). Janggeom (talk) 11:56, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Tien Fa Kung Fu has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of notability. No independent sources.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
