Afghanistan articles
[edit]Hello, I'm Rivertorch. Your recent edit to the page Kabul appears to have added incorrect information, so I have removed it for now. If you believe the information was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. I note that you have made similar changes, also unsourced, to other articles about cities and regions in Afghanistan. According to policy, all content in articles must be verifiable, so please cite a reliable source for all such changes, and use an edit summary to explain what you're doing. Thanks. Rivertorch (talk) 04:32, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Kohistan District, Kapisa, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. You also removed sourced content without explanation at Hesa Awal Kohistan District. Please don't do that. If there's a valid reason for removing, explain on the article's talk page or at least use an edit summary. Rivertorch (talk) 04:38, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to List of pornographic sub-genres may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

File permission problem with File:Pir Roshan.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Pir Roshan.jpg, which you've attributed to yourself. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to [email protected], stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to [email protected].
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mlpearc (open channel) 03:00, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
Possibly unfree File:Pir Roshan.jpg
[edit]A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Pir Roshan.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you object to the listing for any reason. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 12:04, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

Use of edit summaries, and edit warring
[edit]Please use edit summaries, so that people can see why you are doing what you do. For example, in this edit you gave no explanation at all why you removed the content, which makes it unsurprising that other editors have reverted your change. Also, you should be aware that repeatedly making the same edits when other editors have reverted them, known as edit warring, is considered disruptive, and can lead to being blocked from editing. That is particularly likely if you give no explanation of why you are making the edit that you repeat. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 09:41, 14 November 2014 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. [edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Battle of Rajasthan. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.
If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a loss of editing privileges.
Consensus should be reached on the talk page before the article is edited. Kautilya3 (talk) 13:12, 27 December 2015 (UTC)
I'm not in any edit war. Mr. Kautilya can't prove his assertions for a single sentence for an article that hardly has any resources so he is going by his own judgement.. Akmal94 (talk) 07:45, 28 December 2015 (UTC)

Your talk page edits
[edit]Too many of these are emotional statements of your own position/belief, provided without sources. I'll repeat the alert posted to you by User:Kautilya3: " This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to the topic that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, ourstandards of behavior, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks." This includes behavior on talk pages. I advise you to consider both changing your tone and when you state your beliefs to use sources. Please remember that talk pages aren't webforums. Thanks. Doug Weller talk 10:53, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
I'm addressing weak sources and unsourced material on Wikipedia where there aren't any sources in the first place. You can't really ban me for a having a neutral point of view, even one of Wiki's policy mention this. I suggest you to read WP:YESPOV on Neutral point view. Secondly, i haven't been asked to provide sources if i have distaste with a particular edit while i would address my views in the talk page after consulting with a few users first. Thirdly. my 3 month old disscusion with Kautilya is irrelevant to this disscusion. If you did read that talk page though, i was calling out the authencitiy of the battle in the article with provided sources. Thank you for your concern. Akmal94 (talk) 19:12, 26 April 2016 (UTC)

[edit]You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Hazaras; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. [edit]Please do not assume ownership of articles as you did at Pashtun tribes. In the past, you have used rotating IP addresses as per here and here to push the very same sentiment. If you aren't willing to allow your contributions to be edited extensively or be redistributed by others, please do not submit them. In this time and age, "Afghan" is no longer synonymous with "Pashtun" as "Afghan" has become a nationality even under Afghanistan's own constitution which includes Tajik, Hazara, Uzbek, Pashtuns, and other ethnicities living in Afghanistan. This article is not about Pashtun Tribes' history but just Pashtun Tribes. Let's not inject nationalism here nor indulge in edit-warring. McKhan (talk) 10:17, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
This has nothing to do with nationalism but the usage of the word in an article which has historically been connected to the Pashtuns. The article is about Pashtun tribes and their history so the word "Afghan" merits a mention, your thinking on modern grounds. If you have a problem with it, then you should have used the talk page to voice your concern instead of leaving messages on my talk page. I am going revert your edit because i don't see anything wrong with mentioning the word Afghan. Akmal94 (talk) 20:35, 30 March 2021 (UTC)
- First of all, I have not reverted your edit as I didn't want to indulge in edit-warring. Second, you have used rotating IP addresses (here and here) in the past to push the very same sentiment. And third, I have gone through your edit history (For example, see here. This is just one example, there are more.) as well as this Talk Page which doesn't come across that you have any love for the Pakistani Pashtuns or it isn't about nationalism to you, as per your own edit history and the entries (i.e cautions, warnings) made by other editors. As per this talk page, you have indulged in edit-warring in the past and you have been warned by Doug Weller and others. Now coming back to the sentence, I have already clarified that this article is not about Pashtun Tribes' history but just Pashtun Tribes hence my edit. I left this message here because you have used the rotating IP addresses to push the very same sentiment so it seems that you feel very strongly about having "Afghan" in that article although there are plenty of Pashtun-related Wikipedia articles out there that I don't go and edit them on the basis of Afghan vs. Pashtun. You could have simply added the word "historically" and be done with that but you didn't, instead, you resorted to using rotating IP addresses to push your sentiment although you could have used the Talk Page as well before making that edit. Thank you. McKhan (talk) 02:58, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
Wow bold words coming from someone who has been on here for 15 years but is trying to instigate users! You're engaging in WP:HARASS by trying to accuse me of editing from different IP's. I told you could have addressed the issue with my edit on the talk page, but no, you had to come here and leave this message on my page to make it look personal. If you did read the article, you would know there is a small history section dedicated to how Pashtuns formed so the word Afghan deserves to be mentioned as thats what they were known as historically. Even in some parts of Afghanistan, the word Afghan or Afghani is used interchangeably with Pashtuns and their language. Akmal94 (talk) 21:43, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
- You have been told enough times that you must stop using "Pashtun" and "Afghan" interchangeably. You will be reported if you persisted with this POV. Shashank5988 (talk) 17:31, 27 September 2022 (UTC)

Mughal Khel
[edit]Dear Sir/Madam,
I respectfully request your assistance in reviewing my draft article, Draft:Mughal Khel. As a sub-tribe of the Yousafzai, the Mughal Khels are unique in that they are the only Yousafzai tribe residing in Southern Pakhtunkhwa, where they speak a soft version of Pashto. They are based in Bannu and their history and cultural practices have been documented in various online sources and books.
It is my hope that by writing this article, I can contribute to the knowledge base about the Yousafzai tribe and highlight their rich tradition of migration and cultural diversity. I would greatly appreciate your guidance and support in ensuring that the information is accurate and suitable for submission on Wikipedia.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
