Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.  You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. Requested username:

Request reason:

I did not think it was material to use my own name as a user

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 20:56, 27 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I would be happy to unblock for username change to the name you suggest. But before I do , please note that while a company name is not acceptable, almost anything else is (except obscenity or profanity, obviously). So nicknames or made-up names are ok, and while you can use your own name (I do) you do not have to. Are you happy with "Adolf Joubert"?--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 17:52, 26 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I would be happy with username = Adolf Joubert, thanks Afrinatural (talk) 07:21, 27 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Help > Changing name

[edit]

I am a new user and do not know programming script (my kids do bu they are not at home!)

On approx 26 Sep I registered myself as "Afrinatural". I was then encouraged to change this name, that I did - to "Adolf Joubert"(I think). As I understand, this change was approved by Anthony Bradbury.

When I log on I still have to do so under the "Afrinatural" name.

What next?

Where would the draft article that I created under "Afrinatural" be found? Heading = "Afrinatural" ````

You haven't changed your name yet. You have to go to WP:CHU as it tells you on the green box. Then scroll down to Simple and follow the instructions. Peridon (talk) 15:49, 6 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
As to your article, it was last seen at User:41.177.19.139/Afrinatural Holdings, but it was deleted by Alexf for being unambiguously promotional. Which it was. No point in reviving it as it would only get deleted again. I would advise you to read WP:CORP about notability for companies, WP:RS about the reliable independent sources you need to give to prove it (and in a quick Google check, I couldn't see anything much in the forst 60 results), and, in view of your new chosen user name, WP:COI about editing on subjects you are very close to. It's not forbidden, but it's strongly not advised. To see where you went wrong, read WP:SPAM (guess what that's about) and WP:PEACOCK. (We have some oddly named policies and essays - there's even WP:DUCK). Please don't be offended if your next try gets tagged for lack of significance. Not all companies (or people) make it into widespread coverage in RS. Some rather wish they hadn't... Peridon (talk) 16:04, 6 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I received this messsage (still so on my latest "User Talk: Afrinatural" page) - "This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request." It has been linked to Anthony Bradbury.

Must I re-do the application?````

No - just do what I told you to do above about going to CHU. But I do advise you to read the policies I have suggested you read. If you are still planning to advertise your business, you may be in for disappointment. By the way, on talk pages please sign your post by typing four ~ things at the end of your post. It's how we put our signatures and the date stamp on like this: Peridon (talk) 14:41, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
All that Anthony did was to unblock you for the time being. We can't change your name - that has to be done at the CHU board. Peridon (talk) 14:43, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
