Speedy deletion nomination of Category:American male climbers
[edit]A tag has been placed on Category:American male climbers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Hi, thanks for your note about Annie Pearl Avery. I'm in contact with the article writer and have already advised them on which sources to add, and noted these issues. Since they were actively working on the article, I didn't see a problem with it being in the main space. But I wouldn't want it to be deleted, so I'm happy to move it back to draft. I don't seem to be able to do that, though, as the other draft version still exists. Are you able to do it? DrLibraryCat (talk) 20:46, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
- Since we performed our moves roughly at the same time, I think we ended up creating duplicates. For now, I'm just having the draft redirect to the main space. I think it's fine to let the user keep making improvements in the article space for now, though they should be aware that it may not meet notability and sourcing guidelines. Thank you for reaching out to them. Ytoyoda (talk) 20:52, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
- @DrLibraryCat: Actually, since the user is working on the article at User:MH1245/Annie Pearl Avery, I've tagged the version in the main article space with the speedy template so we don't have multiple versions of the same article. Ytoyoda (talk) 21:17, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks so much! I'll make sure the user is aware. I did warn them that it might get deleted if in the article space. And I'll be more careful in future to make sure this doesn't happen again.DrLibraryCat (talk) 21:33, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
- No worries! It looks like we were trying to do the same thing at the same time. I've never seen that happen before! Ytoyoda (talk) 21:42, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
