File source problem with File:Max Azria2.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Max Azria2.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:44, 22 December 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. dave pape (talk) 19:44, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

December 2009[edit]

Your addition to Maz Azria has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Dougweller (talk) 20:08, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion at the Conflict of interest noticeboard[edit]

I've started a discussion here [1]. I hope you realise that if you do grant us copyright (which you have to do formally), this means the text and photos can be republished elsewhere. It also appears that you don't own the copyright for all the texts in question. Dougweller (talk) 22:22, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Doug, Can you help me out with this? I will do whatever I need to do to keep the listing as neutral as possible and keep in line with Wikipedia standards. However now both articles have been deleted. This is particularly alarming for the Max Azria one-- his article has been up there for a long time. I simply updated the photo, fixed some formatting and added the list and descriptions of the brand encompassed by the BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP company. This brings his article in line with those of other, similar fashion personalities like Ralph Lauren, Tom Ford and Tommy Hilfiger. I don't understand why the article was full-on deleted like that. As for the one about Lubov Azria-- she is our creative director and a public personality in fashion just like Marc Jacobs or Phoebe Philo. She has become more public in the past 18 months, and there is very little information about her available publicly. Creating a page for her and updating the page for Max was done in response to press inquires. Please let me know what I need to do to get both pages back up. Thank you so much for your help!Acuffrose (talk) 20:02, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Lubov Azria. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" is strongly discouraged. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 22:39, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Max Azria, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 22:39, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orange Mike, Can you help me out with this? I will do whatever I need to do to keep the listing as neutral as possible and keep in line with Wikipedia standards. Please put the Max Azria page back up-- his article has been up there for a long time and was not started by me. I simply updated the photo, fixed some formatting and added the list and descriptions of the brand encompassed by the BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP company, bringing his article in line with those of other, similar fashion personalities like Ralph Lauren, Tom Ford and Tommy Hilfiger. Re: Lubov: you've got it backwards. Wikipedia is not a webhost, and is not a place for you to attempt to provide press information: that would go on your own website. If "there is very little information about her available publicly", then by your own admission she is not notable! I'll take a second look at Max; but you need to stay miles away from that article. --Orange Mike | Talk 20:33, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Are you the editor who formerly edited as User:Roseorchid and described her/himself as "an assistant manager for Max Rave"? Are you the editor who formerly edited as User:BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP? --Orange Mike | Talk 20:44, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mike, I'm neither of those editors-- the updates to Max's articles and the creation of the Lubov article yesterday were my first contributions to Wikipedia. Please review your decision to delete the article on Max, as that one was up there long before I touched it. As for Lubov, can I upload a stripped-down version of the article with her image, name, basic details (like birth, etc.), job title and the info about public events such as the Whitney Art Party? She has been reported on in several publications and is a well-known figure in the fashion business, so while I respect your opinion, I disagree that she is not notable. I can include additional references if you feel the article was biased, and I'm completely open to taking whatever suggestions you can offer. I really appreciate your help-- I'm not trying to violate any Wikipedia rules or take advantage of the service. Wikipedia has simply become a valuable resource for people looking for information about various people and subjects, and it currently lacks information about this company and its public heads. I'm just trying to offer information. Thank you!Acuffrose (talk) 20:57, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You have been editing the Max Azria article again! I thought you understood that you should not be editing that article any more. As to the other: see WP:BIO; I see no evidence that she meets those standards. Remember: this is a reference work, not a fashion industry directory. --Orange Mike | Talk 15:11, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
