- In reference to "Possibly unfree images"File:Abirc.jpg:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Possibly_unfree_files/2011_February_23#File:Abirc.jpg Here is the story, I am new to wiki and have never done all these, so I am sorry as I have also sent an email to you, meant for only urgent issues. My issue is not that urgent per say, but I need help.
I uploaded this photo. This was a photo taken couple of years back by me, I live in US but I am from Calcutta,India and so is the subject of the photo. He is a friend. I went to see him at a photo shoot and clicked some of my own. I downloaded the photos in picassa and uploaded them in google album at that time. Unfortunately my computer crashed last year and I lost all my photos, everything. The copy I have now is downloaded from google album. I guess I didn't upload it in its original resolution that's the reason the resolution might not look the image to be original.(I am not a professional, and neither did I think that in future I would need to prove to wiki:)) What I can do now is ask the subject of the photo "Abir" to see if he has the originals as I remember sending him the originals as attachment in gmail.(I guess that does not reduce the picture quality.)But most likely he won't have them either. As it was some years back and he is a busy celebrity to keep track of all these. Other than that I don't have the image in my camera or in its original size. What else can I do to prove that it belongs to me? This was not posted or used for any commercial purpose else where and has no copyright violation. Also before uploading, I repeatedly tried to get help from "live chat" explaining my situation but did not get much help. I got the impression that as long as its mine and not used anywhere else its ok. Please let me know. I have no personal interest in this matter but would definitely like to keep the image, as its a genuine case and removing it won't be fair. Let me know if I can do anything to prevent this from deleting given the situation I just explained. Achau24 (talk) 18:11, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

- Please don't email me for non-urgent messages, and please add your message at the bottom.
- You need to post your response regarding the image to the "possibly unfree files" page, as that is the only way it will be taken into account. Stifle (talk) 19:51, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
- I have already posted my response in the "possibly unfree files" page. Sorry for the email, got a little confused with using wiki for editing for the first time. What can be done now from my side? Are we waiting for additional feedback from others? Thanks for your help in advance.

- I think I apologized for the email, being a first time wiki editor. Have no intention to bother you.:)Once again sorry. As far as I know all editors in wiki are equal, does Administrator mean he has superior rights to take a decision? Also I don't see any other feedback other than from you, so when you say "others" do you mean other editors will voice their opinion before an admin can consider the issue. Once again, I might sound a little silly as this is my first image submission and possibly last :)Will appreciate if you can clarify.

- One last question, why did you think it had copyright violation? Just for my information, so that I know. For resolution or anything else?
- Have updated with my response, if acceptable let me know if I can email with screen shots.Achau24 (talk) 19:35, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

I had created a page in 2011 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abir_Chatterjee , now i see there are many contributors and some of them are abusing the page by giving false info, can this be stopped and I get a notification of changes and block a particular user? please let me know how to deal with this.Achau24 (talk) 04:10, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
- This isn't possible.
