Grande Prairie spelling[edit]

Hi Acefitt,

Your maps for Alberta Highway 2 and Alberta Highway 43 look really good; however, I noticed that Grande Prairie was spelt "Grand Prairie". Is it possible for you to correct this? Thanks! Happy Holidays/Merry Christmas.

@MuzikMachine: Dammit. Yeah it's an easy fix, I'll do it. -- Acefitt 00:43, 23 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

July 2017[edit]

Information icon Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours to the page Edmonton tornado has an edit summary that appears to be inaccurate or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits. Thank you. Meters (talk) 22:28, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes that section was badly messed up. You could have fixed it, you could have gone through the history to see if there was an earlier version that was acceptable, you could have tagged it, you could have moved it to the talk page for a rewrite, you could have linked to the problem section on the talk page, you could even have removed it with an edit summary explaining. Any of those approaches woulds have been better than hiding the section in a comment and not mentioning it in your edit summary [1]. Meters (talk) 22:29, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Meters: Yeah I meant to fix that section written by a 2-year-old but completely forgot. Of course, I always appreciate being told what an edit summary is after using them consistently for 10 years. -- Acefitt 07:48, 1 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
So why didn't you? Your sarcasm is misplaced. I didn't tell you what an edit summary was, and it's irrelevant whether you normally use them. You didn't that time. It's a bad idea to comment out a section, but to do so without even mentioning it in the summary or talk page is not acceptable. Please don't do it again. Meters (talk) 20:32, 1 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Meters: Why didn't I? Cause I completely forgot, like I said? Again, I'll be sure all my further havoc is wrought upon articles that interest you. Better still, you should probably check my contribs and revert all the unacceptable things I've done thus far. It's pretty far back to go! -- Acefitt 07:32, 2 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Reviewing[edit]

Hello, Acefitt.

I've seen you editing recently and you seem knowledgeable about Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
Would you please consider becoming a New Page Reviewer? Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; currently Wikipedia needs experienced users at this task. (After gaining the flag, patrolling is not mandatory. One can do it at their convenience). But kindly read the tutorial before making your decision. Thanks. — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 09:31, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I notice that you have the "administrator someday" userbox. Reviewing new pages is one of the best ways to develop experience needed to successfully wield the mop. — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 09:31, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2017 election voter message[edit]

Hello, Acefitt. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Participation at WT: Airports[edit]

As you may be aware, there was a recent discussion on the talk page of WP:Airports which prematurely and without consensus resulted in mass changes to airport articles throughout Wikipedia. Before a drastic change like this is put into practice, it is important to have clear consensus, which from my readings as an observer, did not occur. Many of these changes started to occur before any real discussion had taken place, and despite much disagreement from some community members. Disagreement is good -- it's great actually -- without it nothing would ever get done. But it's important that everyone opinions are heard fairly and accurately, and that significant changes like merging the Regional Airline destinations with the Mainline destinations are not done without such consensus. I encourage you, as someone involved in WP:Airports and the original discussion, to voice your opinions and discuss with others about how we should move forward at this point. Positive and constructive conversation is the way to a consensus. I also ask that everyone (myself included) ceases merging or un-merging mainline/regional destinations until a censuses is reached. Please contribute to the conversation here. Tofutwitch11 (TALK) 00:42, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

File:Welcome mural at LCI entrance.jpg listed for discussion[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Welcome mural at LCI entrance.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for discussion. Please see the discussion to see why it has been listed (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry). Feel free to add your opinion on the matter below the nomination. The file File:USA states population map 2006 color.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Orphaned map.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ~ Rob13Talk 17:31, 7 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your comment. There, I reply, mentioning why I used the hyphen. I am open to change, whatever is correct. Vanguard10 (talk) 03:05, 21 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Question[edit]

Hi there, you reverted my edit to WestJet. I understand the changes to Swoop and WJ Encore, but is there a reason WJ Link isn't included in this article? It's as much a subsidiary as the others and the section I added was fully sourced. Madg2011 (talk) 21:08, 21 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Madg2011: Because when part of the addition is blatantly wrong it's easier for me to just revert then re-add anything useful after, which is what I've done. -- Acefitt 21:13, 21 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
