Ways to improve De L'Assomption Boulevard[edit]

Hi, I'm Ceyockey. 9plus10, thanks for creating De L'Assomption Boulevard!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. My gut feeling is that this article should be PROD nominated, but I will limit my intervention to noting the lack of references and passing it by review.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 01:35, 15 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Langelier Boulevard moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Langelier Boulevard, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.  I dream of horses  If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message  (talk to me) (My edits) @ 00:23, 5 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Les Halles D'Anjou, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Bill Blair[edit]

I removed most of this edit because it's mostly not about Blair. It would work better at COVID-19 pandemic in Canada though probably split throughout the article not with the current tone.Citing (talk) 21:19, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Citing that the edits are not NPOV and would add that they are not in keeping with BLP policy. And the logged-in/logged-out editing is not a good idea. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 21:21, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for letting me know that I violated BLP policy. My point of view that I used was clearly not neutral at the time because I felt betrayed and lied to by Prime Minister Trudeau and Minister Blair when they announced the extension of the border closure today after Canada just reached 75% of its eligible population vaccinated with one dose, which was the original milestone set forth by the Canadian government to begin work on easing border restrictions. For that, I am sorry for using this page as a personal forum to vent my frustrations. I am glad that we can at least find some sort of a solution to how we can put some of my edit out there by putting it in the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada page. 9plus10 (talk) 00:38, 19 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think we need that trivia about one particular use of the symbol. Please follow WP:BRD and discuss it on the talk page rather than continuing to make the edit. Meters (talk) 03:19, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Adding non-notable entries to articles[edit]

Information icon Hello. Your recent edit appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. A tag has been placed on Richelieu River Rivalry requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

recently created redirect with a title that was recently added (I've since removed) to the target that is unsourced and is non-existant aside from these additions.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". OK. So the Pats home stadium is in Foxborough, MA. The Giants home stadium is in East Rutherford, NJ. The Richelieu River does flow through parts of Upstate New York, but not anywhere near MA. As far as I can see, "Richelieu River Rivalry" exists only as deleted versions of the Pats/Giants rivalry hosted on various Wikipedia:Mirrors and forks. As always, happy to be proven wrong.--Shirt58 (talk) 🦘 09:35, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am from Quebec myself and yes, while I understand that the Richelieu River does not flow all the way to NYC or to Massachusetts, in Quebec, that river separates the areas that are close to New York and the areas that are close to Vermont (New England), hence the name Richelieu River Rivalry. And in many parts of that area of Montérégie and nearby Montreal Island, the New York Giants and the New England Patriots are the most popular teams among the people that live there by far out of every other team in the NFL. In Canada, we don't have an NFL team to call our own, so as a result, most Canadians root for an NFL team based on who is closest to them. And in Quebec, it is the New York Giants', the New York Jets' and the New England Patriots' stadiums that are the closest to the province, and in terms of who is the most loved in Quebec, it is the Giants and the Patriots by far because their stadiums and markets are the closest to Quebec and they have a history of winning (there aren't many Quebecers who root for the Jets, believe it or not). There are articles on the Web of Montrealers and Quebecers crossing the border to watch Patriots games in the past and some have even attended the Pats' Super Bowl parades in Boston over the years. Besides, Richelieu River Rivalry is a very creative name for the Giants-Patriots Rivalry, if I do say so myself. 9plus10 (talk) 18:27, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It may be a creative name but if it's not used in any WP: Reliable sources it shouldn't be mentioned in any articles normally. Redirects have a slightly lower standard but still needs to be a verifiable term that people use or is otherwise a helpful search term. Skynxnex (talk) 18:46, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
