Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Martin Bayly. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. GiantSnowman 16:47, 7 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bill Harburn

[edit]

Hello, and thank you for adding statistical information to the infobox at Bill Harburn. I have a source for his scoring twice in six matches during the 1953–54 season, which I've added to the prose of the article. What that source doesn't verify is that all six of those matches were in league competition or that he appeared was with the club in both 1953 and 1954, which is what you added to the infobox. If you have such a source, please re-add your content to the infobox, and add a reference to that source to the article.

In general, as people have clearly told you before, we are expected to provide sources for content we add to Wikipedia. It would help the encyclopedia's reputation for verifiabiity and accuracy if you were to start co-operating with that expectation. Thank you, Struway2 (talk) 09:04, 2 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Robbie Wakenshaw, without citing a reliable source using an inline citation that clearly supports the material. The burden is on the person wishing to keep in the material to meet these requirements, as a necessary (but not always sufficient) condition. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. GiantSnowman 08:27, 11 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've been here before to explain about adding sources for the changes you make to footballer information. Please understand that this is required. It isn't optional.
I've undone your changes to Brian Taylor (footballer, born 1937): Brian Taylor never played for Nuneaton. Some of the others in your last batch do look likely, and I've left them alone for now. If you go back and add to each article convincing references to reliable published sources to justify your changes, and particularly to justify your appearance and goal data – book and page number, or newspaper/article-title/date, or url – I won't undo them all. If you don't, I will undo your changes.
The whole point of this encyclopedia is that it relies on already published information that the reader can verify for themselves, if they have access to the book or newspaper or webpage cited. Without sources, your additions are just a set of random numbers indistinguishable from vandalism. Thanks for listening. Struway2 (talk) 10:06, 23 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Could you add your sources for this edit please? All content updates need to be referenced within the article. I'm happy to help if you need some guidance doing this. Thanks, Nzd (talk) 13:08, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
