Skytrax awards[edit]

it is not an agenda that some airports do have and other airports do not have a mention of their Skytrax awards. Wikipedia is maintained by volunteers and it is likely that not all airports are constantly monitored for possible awards. Feel free to add them if you can source them.

And awards on its own is not puffery. It is often the place in the article (it should not be mentioned in the lead but in a dedicated section near the end of the article) that gives it undue weight. And often the text can be promotional. You are free to reduce such text to the bare minimum: year, award, source. The Banner talk 14:18, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't mean the awards themselves or any mention of thereof in the lead. That is totally fine with me. The problem is that some airports have those awards mentions marked as puffery in their respective articles, while others don't. The whole back and forth with the editing started after someone added the puffery remark to Hamad International Airport page, strangely the day after it was announced as the Skytrax winner in 2024. But you would not see any such remark on other renowned airports' Wiki pages, like Changi or Incheon, despite half of their leads being taken up by outrageous claims of how great they are, pure peacocking. Now tell me there is no agenda against the former airport possibly due to it being in a universally disliked Gulf nation state. When I removed the puffery remark from its page, it got added back, when I added the same remark to Changi and Incheon pages, it got reverted as well. So one is justified and the other is not? 83.23.160.232 (talk) 14:57, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In all three cases it is toned down and moved to a dedicated section near the end of the article.
But you are free to tone down the text about the awards in other articles. Or add the awards to other articles. The Banner talk 15:49, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
