Welcome

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

Someone using this IP address, 79.74.212.75, removed content from the page Zoo Tycoon 2 without giving an explanation. Please always provide an informative edit summary when removing content from pages. If 79.74.212.75 is a shared IP address and you did not do this, you may wish to consider getting a username to avoid confusion with other editors and further irrelevant notices.

Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Here are some other hints and tips:

  • I recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
  • When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or type {{helpme}} here on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! Alpha3031 (talk | contribs) 13:27, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Zoo Tycoon (2001 video game), you may be blocked from editing. Alpha3031 (talk | contribs) 13:28, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia, as you did at Zoo Tycoon 2. Boomer VialHolla! We gonna ball! 13:31, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Content Removal

[edit]

If you have a good reason to remove content from Wikipedia articles, go ahead, but please describe your reasons in the edit summary. Unexplained deletions look similar to vandalism and are liable to be reverted.

I shouldn't have to, the rules make it clear what should or shouldn't be there in the first place. Other people have deleted lists that fall under WP:GameGuide and you don't pick on them. 79.74.212.75 (talk) 13:39, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I am not awake 24/7, so what I do or do not revert should not be taken as a precedent for either how I choose to revert or Wikipedia's official policy. Alpha3031 (talk | contribs) 13:49, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I just want to state for the IP editor that the editors of Wikipedia are not psychic. We cannot just magically guess what guide one particular editor is following, as well as be expected to know and memorize every single policy. That is the point of edit summaries. So we can differentiate disruptive edits/vandalism, from good-faith edits. Now, I dug through the revision history of Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis, and I do see what you meant now.[1] I'll agree with you on that aspect, but please remember to use the edit summaries. Doing so will make these types of encounters much less likely to happen. Boomer VialHolla! We gonna ball! 02:23, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
