September 2022[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Steven Hatfill has been reverted.
Your edit here to Steven Hatfill was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links in references which are discouraged per our reliable sources guideline (see also this list of frequently-discussed sources). The reference(s) you added or changed (https://www.theepochtimes.com/virologist-steven-hatfill-virus-origins-local-government-failures-and-how-to-protect-your-health_3291832.html) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Information icon Hello, I'm 1AmNobody24. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Riverworld, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. 1AmNobody24 (talk) 19:14, 17 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

September 2023[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in National Theatre, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 23:23, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in National Theatre. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 11:21, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A Tale of the Ragged Mountains[edit]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you have a source that discusses the story as fantastic literature, you simply must include it. Further, because the genre is somewhat esoteric, the only way to make the information viable in the WP:LEDE is to add a few lines to the main body of the article discussing how third party, reliable, published sources discuss how the story is part of that genre. Please understand that I am trying to help you as a long term Wikipedia editor of some merit; I am not trying to start an edit war with you. Because I have clearly been challenging this information, it may be best for you to read through WP:BURDEN. Best of luck. Please let me know how I can help any further. --Midnightdreary (talk) 14:13, 19 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

As I previously requested of you, please stop YOUR disruptive editing. I've been editing regularly on Wikipedia since 2006, so you can climb down off your high horse now as your smarmy attitude & superior posturing are not convincing.
BTW, 15 years ago we had a lengthy exchange (do you remember?) & you finished up with this:

I don't know how else to deal with this and, frankly, I have never been more frustrated in any experience I have ever had on Wikipedia. Your interpretation is not implausible. It has just never bee [sic] suggested before. No one that I have found has ever disputed that Lenore is not a real name. I have been working on poetry and poet articles on Wikipedia since I began my tenure here. I have never had such a hard time with interpretation. Ever. --19:12, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

I'm glad to hear that you are not now trying to start an edit war with me, but you do seem to seek out opportunities to do so. As to Poe's story needing a source to document that it is "fantastic literature", that strikes me as decidedly absurd. Every high school student who reads a Poe story knows that it is fantastic literature. If you know anything about Poe, you know that he wrote fantastic literature. Fantastic literature is not, as you say, a genre that is "somewhat esoteric" ... It is one of the main drivers of modern-day popular culture, highly accessible to everyone nowadays.
I am restoring this edit. If you wish to alert an admin to the disagreement, you are welcome to do so. However you respond, let it not be in the condescending tone of "let me know how I can help any further"... If you are truly a "Wikipedia editor of some merit" (sheesh! has anyone ever given you feedback on talking that way?), you will perceive that this whole line of discourse is going nowhere. Valerius Tygart (talk) 13:17, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I was, in fact, trying to assist. I feel this has become a personal attack on me. My tone was sincere and not intended to be condescending. Apparently this is very important to you and I'm sorry to have upset you so much. I do think that adding a citation to any source calling the story a form of fantastical fiction would be beneficial; not everyone knows what that means. --Midnightdreary (talk) 13:50, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please join the discussion at Talk:An_Experiment_with_Time#Philip_Jose_Farmer. Nobody is disputing that Farmer was an important writer. The problem with the text that you're adding is that you need an independent source that connects Farmer's work to Dunne. Schazjmd (talk) 23:31, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

April 2024[edit]

Information icon Hi 66.44.9.23! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at The Homecoming that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. Adakiko (talk) 10:51, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
