Thank for your edits to African Americans in France[edit]

Thanks again for your beneficial edits to African Americans in France. I just wanted to leave you this note to explain an unusual situation at that article. Before you got there, another editor made a series of edits that made the article worse, by inserting their own opinion all over. Since this is prohibited, their edits needed to be removed. If caught in time, it's very easy to do that, but once other editors have made subsequent changes to improve the article, the easy, undo procedure is no longer available and it becomes more difficult just to remove the offending edits, while leaving later, good edits alone. To make a long story short, to get rid of their edits, I had to roll the article back to an earlier revision before they got there, and in the process, this also removed your beneficial edits that happened later on. I apologize for this, but it was unavoidable in order to restore the article to a good state.

As for how to proceed now regarding your edits, what is your preference? I can either try to reinstitute your three edits for you, or if you prefer, you can take a look at the current state of the article, and see if you are okay with it, and make any changes as needed. It could be that after the roll back, it won't need to be changed that much, but I'll leave that up to you. Let me know what you prefer. Thanks, and once again, welcome to Wikipedia! Feel free to contact me any time at my Talk page, if you have questions about this, or about anything regarding editing at Wikipedia. Mathglot (talk) 19:47, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
