Regarding your question about the “sixth network” reference in pertinence to The CW’s expansion to a seven-night-a-week schedule, I was counting ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox and the now-defunct DuMont Television Network as the other five. (IDK if the 1940s-50s Paramount Television Network offered seven nights of programming, although it doesn’t seem it was considered a major network per se.)
