The above article is not about communities based on existing municipal boundaries, former municipalities using their former boundaries, or any other potential community boundaries that may exist. To assist in understanding the concept, here is a map of the Halifax population centre as defined by StatCan, which includes both the former cities of Halifax and Dartmouth, the former Town of Bedford, and other built-up adjacent areas within the former Municipality of the County of Halifax. There is a different list article that captures the scope of all communities in Nova Scotia, whether they are incorporated or not. See List of communities in Nova Scotia.
