Proposed deletion of Islamic terrorism in the West[edit]

The article Islamic terrorism in the West has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No original research: numerous uncited claims, clear evidence of synthesis, arbitrary definition of "West", ignores attacks prior to 2001

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

A tag has been placed on Islamic terrorism in the West requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://forums.politicalmachine.com/306737/Controls/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. I've declined speedy deletion of the article on that basis, since the named site copied its text from other Wikipedia articles, as I expect you did yourself. That's ok, but you must attribute those articles - Wikipedia text isn't in the public domain; you can't just copy-paste it everywhere without saying where it came from. Ideally, this should be done in the edit summary that introduces each passage of copied text to the new article, but it's too late for that now. The next best thing - though it's more complex - is to attribute the source articles on the talk page. There's a standardized template, {{copied}}, that makes this easier.

(Also, you should copy the text as it appears in the edit-this-page window, not the rendered view. This will get you the sources for the text, instead of just contextless [21] numbers.)

If you can't remember all the pages where you got the text from, the best thing to do would be to voluntarily delete the article by replacing it with "{{db-g7}}", then start over with the same methodology you used before, this time noting which page you're getting the text from as you edit it onto the page. —Cryptic 03:37, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
