March 2015[edit]

Stop icon Your recent edits to List of state and local political sex scandals in the United States could give Wikipedia contributors the impression that you may consider legal or other "off-wiki" action against them, or against Wikipedia itself. Please note that making such threats on Wikipedia is strictly prohibited under Wikipedia's policies on legal threats and civility. Users who make such threats may be blocked. If you have a dispute with the content of any page on Wikipedia, please follow the proper channels for dispute resolution. Please be sure to comment on content, not contributors, and where possible make specific suggestions for changes supported by reliable independent sources and focusing especially on verifiable errors of fact. You have been blocked from editing for making legal threats or taking legal action. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

You are not allowed to edit Wikipedia while the threats stand or the legal action is unresolved.  §FreeRangeFrogcroak 03:45, 13 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

The information provided did not include the fact that the case was dismissed and I had requested the edits several times. When I had edited it, someone would return the material to the page. To include a false accusation on a page of several confirmed accusations without saying that the charges had been dismissed and that a Federal Discrimination Lawsuit had been filed against the City of Los Angeles for their actions, suggests that I was guilt of the accusation. It was hardly a political scandal as I at the time, was no longer the Executive Director of the Los Angeles County Republican Party nor was I ever elected to any position. I felt my only option was to ask that the information be removed or I would then be forced to pursue legal recourse. I was unaware of Wikipedia's policy of legal threats, as well as the policy of libelous information. Please reinstate my editing abilities. 108.38.65.46 (talk) 4:16 am, Today (UTC+0)

Decline reason:

Since the threat of legal action still stands, I am declining this appeal. Yunshui  12:44, 17 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

To stand a chance of unblocking, you have to clearly withdraw any threat of legal action. Peridon (talk) 10:18, 17 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
