Ways to improve Kadavul Temple

[edit]

Hi, I'm Graeme Bartlett. शिव साहिल, thanks for creating Kadavul Temple!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. References from independent sources are needed to prove notability. Religious organisation or building articles without independent references are usually deleted

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Lingam

[edit]

Well I know this friend the base is referred by different names such as as aadharshila, pitha, dhamsthan, etc but since even corrections were getting reverted back again and again so though wrong I chose a word from one of the images in article itself. If you are aware of this then kindly change it to pithaProfessor Sumit Sharma (talk) 04:20, 29 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Professor Sumit Sharma: thanks for your reply. Yes, I am very much aware to this. Could you procure some source where it's written that lower part is called pitha; preferably from a published book or encylopedia. I have one, from a book. If you put some effort on your side we can revert the current edit. Yoni is degradation term. Doing these work require effort from our side, I was reminded of this when I was against the edit of Lingam as phallus. But in the end I had to allow creation of new section, but I managed to get the wordings changed. Sigh!! Anyway I am looking forward some sources from your side. शिव साहिल (talk) 12:32, 29 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Username

[edit]

Hi, I just wanted to make a quick comment about your username. As per Wikipedia:Username policy, a non-Latin username is allowed, but can be problematic. From Wikipedia:Signatures;

Editors with non-Latin usernames are welcome to edit in Wikipedia. However, non-Latin scripts, such as Arabic, Armenian, Chinese, Cyrillic, Greek, Hebrew, Indic scripts, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Thai and others, are illegible to most other contributors of the English Wikipedia. Not everyone uses a keyboard that has immediate access to non-Latin characters, and names that cannot be pronounced cannot be retained in memory. As a courtesy to the rest of the contributors, users with such usernames are encouraged to sign their posts (at least in part) with Latin characters. For an example refer to User:Παράδειγμα, who signs his posts as Παράδειγμα/Paradigma.

I understand your username is in Hindi, and translates to "shiv saahil". Which you've indicated on your userpage is part of your name. If you would consider adding that, or another Latinized name or word to your signature, it would make interacting with you a great deal easier for your fellow editors. To attach a Latinized word or name to your signature, just go to "Preferences", and on the first page, under "User Profile", scroll down to "Signatures". There you will see a text box where you can customize your signature to your liking (you will notice a large number of unique, colorful and creative signatures among the various talk pages here) and you will be able to modify your signature with an add-on in Latin script that will help others identify you and communicate with you. I hope this helps, and happy editing!. - theWOLFchild 01:45, 22 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Ms Sarah Welch. I noticed that you made a change to an article, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Request to reconsider/strike your oppose !vote

[edit]

Hi Shiv Sahil, Greetings from the other part of the world. It's good to see you editing Wikipedia and I think it's a stellar stamp of the cross cultural inclusive nature of this project.

I wanted to request you to reconsider your oppose !vote at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Philafrenzy. You have voted oppose on the basis that the candidate has not participated at ANI, AN, SPI or AVI noticeboard. If I may comment, neither did I participate in most of these areas before I was granted adminship earlier this year (I was the first RfA of the year). It's just a choice that editors have, whether to participate in these noticeboards – I don't think such a choice of the candidate should be used against him.

May I, therefore, request you to kindly strike/change your !vote at the RfA to perhaps support the candidate? I respect your final decision, but the candidate is in my opinion a really worthwhile editor, and your reconsidering your !vote would go a long way in encouraging such candidates.

If you need my help any time, please do drop into my talk page.

Most warmly,

Lourdes 17:19, 24 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
