In football (soccer), ticket touting refers to resale of tickets via the black market. Resale of football matches is illegal in some countries, such as the United Kingdom, where it is an offence covered by Section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994.

World Cup

The issue of ticket touting has a particularly high profile in the case of the FIFA World Cup, where FIFA has introduced measures such as named tickets in an attempt to prevent touting.

Ardwick

Ardwick's first match in the Football League took place on 3 September 1892, at home to Bootle. Watched by about 4,000 spectators in poor weather, Ardwick comprehensively beat their opponents. A five goal lead was amassed before half-time, and a further two were added in the second half to give a 7–0 victory.. Hugh Morris was the scorer of the club's first ever league goal.

National Hall of Fame

Eight former Manchester City players have been inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame at the National Football Museum for contributions to English football as players. Peter Doherty and Denis Law were among the 22 inaugural inductees selected on 2002. Peter Schmeichel was inducted in 2003, Colin Bell and Bert Trautmann in 2005, Billy Meredith in 2007, Frank Swift in 2009 and Francis Lee in 2010. Former City players Matt Busby and Don Revie have been inducted for their achievements as managers, and Niall Quinn has been inducted for community work.

Diane Leather

Leather gained a niche world record in August 1953. In a Great Britain v France meeting at White City, Leather anchored Great Britain "B" in a 3 x 880 yard relay. Leather had a strong cross-country season in 1954. She won the English national championship, and took first place in an England v Scotland international meeting at Perry Barr

At the 1957 AAA Championships, Leather became national champion at both 880 yards and the mile. This double of middle-distance events went unmatched by any woman for 39 years, until Kelly Holmes won the 800m and 1500m in 1996.

She was coached by Dorette Neal, a long-serving secretary of the Midland Counties WAAA.

Good luck telling the Aussie from the Kiwi on a device like a tablet where you can't mouseover.

So, if tablets were meant to be able to do everything laptop and desktop PCs can do then they would cost the same amount of money. If you buy a cheap device you should expect cheap results from it. I'm not going to lose any sleep over most of the issues you have tried to address in your examples here other than the wrapping of basic / standard resolution screens. There is no requirement in Wikipedia that articles be 100% compatible with every handheld device under the sun. Compatibility with basic desktop PCs is a must, and given the advances in screen technology over the past decades, that requirement would carry over to laptop PCs too, and it has done for a long time now. If you can write a Wikipedia article that, because it has no requirement for images or tables, is pure text that can be usefully viewed on a postage stamp sized screen, then great - more power to you. But deferring from putting into an encyclopedia article images or tables that the article really needs simply on the basis that someone out there might one day on a whim wish to view the article on a device that cost him less money than the average Etch A Sketch is simply ludicrous. None of that is relevant although, as a test engineer myself, I do admire your desire to check this stuff out ahead of time.

BTW, you appear to be a master of the totally irrelevant and red herring argument. MCFC don't have any players from both Australia and New Zealand who have played more than 100 games so what you wrote above was a completely non-issue. I was about to write something stronger there and say MCFC don't have any >100 appearances players from down under period, but then I remembered Danny Tiatto. If only he knew exactly how crucial he is to the proper design and web sourcing of the tables in our article! :)

Given that we know every player (except 2 HoF qualified players) is going to have an appearances total >100 (thus 3 digits in length) I quite like the left-aligned total apps format. Because goals totals can vary all over the place, from zero for GKs to 200+ for strikers, the left-alignment doesn't work as well with that column, so maybe that one should be centred.
