Numbers

[edit]

I kinda lost track in this one. You can take a look at out-of-date figures in ~river or ~interiot (with graphs and stuff) anyway if you're down with numbers. But remember, "it is the quality, not quantity of edits that counts." One could clock at more than 10,000 edits and still suck lollipops.

Temp. gang storage

[edit]

From List of gangs in Grand Theft Auto series, pending consideration to be removed.

Golfers

[edit]
Members of the golfers
  • Gang type: Civilians.
  • Appearance: GTA:VC.
  • Turf: Leaf Links, Vice City.
  • Gang car: Caddy.
  • Weapon: Golf club. Golfers also carry Colt .45 pistols[1] in holster and they will draw if they can't reach the player with their clubs (e.g. if one stands on a vehicle).

The golfers (officially classified as a gang) can be found inside and around the Leaf Links golf course. Consisting of elderly men and women in golfing attire, they aren't threatening, though they do carry golf clubs. However, golfers may attack the player if one of theirs is seen attacked by the player.

Security guards

[edit]
Members of the Security Guards
  • Gang type: Hired security guards.
  • Appearance: GTA:VC.
  • Turf: Starfish Island, North Point Mall, Leaf Links, Escobar International Airport and Fort Baxter Air Base, Vice City
  • Front: DBP Security, Ocean Bcach, Vice City
  • Gang car: Baggage Handler (Escobar International Airport and Fort Baxter Air Base only).securcar & pcj-600
  • Weapon: Colt .45 pistol.[1] On mission they carried M4 Carbine, Uzi, and MP5

Members of the Patrol Invest Group (PIG for short) patrol certain areas of Vice City, shooting at those they believe to be troublemakers. Typically, security guards will shoot at the player character if he opens fire in their territory. At times, security guards become involved in 4 or 5-on-1 gun battles with the Streetwannabe's at the North Point Mall, and have even been known to open fire on army soldiers near Fort Baxter. Although their job is to protect property for the wealthy on Starfish Island, the PIG are often chased by the police.

Despite walking alone, unlike other gangs in the game, security guards are counted in the number of gang members killed, and may be listed as the "least favorite gang" in Vice City's stats if killed sufficiently.

Soldiers

[edit]
Members of the Vice City army
  • Gang type: Military personnel.
  • Appearance: GTA:VC.[2]
  • Turf: Fort Baxter Air Base, Vice City.
  • Weapon: M4 Carbine (which, unusually, was not in full production or service until 1994, while the armies were depicted using them in 1986. The only similar carbine is the Colt Commando.)

The most well-armed group in Vice City, Vice City's local military soldiers can be seen in groups surrounding the Fort Baxter Air Base, which the army guards and will open fire onto intruders, should they enter the air base without proper authority. While the weapons wielded by the soldiers would render intrusion into the air base moderately difficult, the player character may enter the base wearing a police uniform, preventing the soldiers from shooting him.

Like other military forces in the Grand Theft Auto series, the soldiers are also called out in attempts to subdue the player whenever the player's wanted level reaches 6 stars, arriving in pairs driving either a Barracks OL military truck or a Rhino tank. Soldiers wear standard US military woodland camouflage, the LC-2 ALICE harness and a patrol cap of corresponding camouflage.

Note to self

[edit]
  • It's "italicization," not "italization."
  • "Re" accurately means "in the matter of," not "reply."
  1. ^ a b Cite error: The named reference vc_pistol_name was invoked but never defined (see the help page).
  2. ^ While military forces have existed since Grand Theft Auto 2, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City's soldiers are noted for their distinctively similar behavior to gangs, walking and standing in groups of two to five within a limited territory. These traits are not exhibited by other renditions of the military in the Grand Theft Auto series, and hence are not included in this list.
