JOZE VALLEY is located in Battagram District which is about 10.7 km north east from the battagram city. The valley of joze is located at the latitude of 34.715894 and longitude 73.076836. It is surrounded by allai valley to the north, Shamlai valley to the east south, Battagram City to the West. It has a total land area of 31 square kilometres.

Overview and history

Joze was the name of a tree in the middle of the valley. This tree was very famous for its gigantic size. The trunk of this tree was rotten inside. In which the old people kept their belongings. This valley was famous because of this tree. Later people cut down this tree because there were houses around it and this tree was very old and there was a danger of falling. And now there is a big mosque(masjid) in its place. Its name is Haqqani Mosque Joze (حقانی مسجد جوز).

In the Joze Valley, there are Pashto speakers as well as Hindko, Gujro, Kohistani and other speakers. Most of the people are Swati(سواتی) who migrated from Swat Valley and settled in these areas. Famous peoples in Valley including Akhunzada, Mughlakhail, Nekahail, Qadirkhail, Malikkhail, Mesrikahil, Sanakhail, Banirwal etc live there.

Joze Valley has a Humid subtropical climate, with mild to warm temperatures during the spring and autumn months, hot temperatures during June and July, and cool to mild temperatures during the winter. The temperature can rise as high as 35 °C during the mid-summer months and drop below −10 °C during the extreme cold waves. Snowfall occurs in December, January, February, and sometime in March, while heavy rainfall occurs during the monsoon season stretching from July to September that frequently cause flooding in lower lying parts of the Valley.

Tourism

Dense forests, rivers, springs, snow-capped peaks in the Joze Valley add to the beauty of the valley. In summer, the shade of the trees is enough for relaxation. Children go to rivers and springs to bathe. Many people come from outside for tourism. On Eid people go for walks on GulDehri which is the highest place in the valley from where Battagram District, Shumlai, Mount Chail etc, can be seen. There is always a calm breeze in the valley. the greenery is visible everywhere because of the forests.

Chail Mount Waterfall

This waterfall is flowing from the Chail Mountain. Its view was very beautiful. Many people come from far and wide to see it.

This water is very cold because it is melted snow on the mountain. This waterfall is more flowing in summer and less in winter.

GulDehri(گل ڈیرائ)

Gul Dehri is high in the valley as well as beautiful. From here you can see almost everywhere. It is a mountain and there is another small peak on the mountain which looks very beautiful. Above it is a road that leads to Chail Mountain
