Ashante Adonis is an American professional wrestler currently signed to WWE, where he performs on the cruiserweight-exclusive 205 Live brand.

Early life[edit]

Miles was born in Hammonton, New Jersey. After graduating from Hammonton High in 2008, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving from 2008 until 2013. During his enlistment, Miles served a combat tour in Afghanistan between 2010 and 2011. After his service, Miles attended the University of Maryland, where he played Division I football as a running back.

Professional wrestling career[edit]

Miles visited local promotion MCW Pro Wrestling (formerly known as Maryland Championship Wrestling) and underwent training at its wrestling center.

Ring of Honor (2018–2019)[edit]

Miles made his debut in 2018 at the November 3 television tapings in a dark match teaming with Dante Caballero and Joe Keys in a six-man tag match losing to Cheeseburger, Eli Isom & Ryan Nova. Two weeks later, Miles returned for the Future of Honor Tapings on November 23, during which he lost his first ROH singles match against Ken Dixon.

WWE (2019–Present)[edit]

Under his ring name Elijah King, he debuted in 2019 on the April 1 episode of Monday Night RAW. There, he appeared in a backstage segment with fellow local wrestler Brandon Scott, during which they were confronted by Braun Strowman. Later in the night, both King and Scott teamed in a two-on-one handicap match lost to Strowman.

NXT (2019–2020)[edit]

Under his real name, Miles during a September 19 NXT Live event, losing his first NXT singles match to recent recruit Cameron Grimes. The following night, Miles returned for the September 20 NXT Live event, losing his second singles match against Damian Priest. He finished the year with a house show match on November 15 lost against Daniel Vidot. Miles wrestled his final match on the brand in 2020, making his television debut on the April 15 episode of NXT, losing to Dexter Lumis. Four months later, Miles returned to NXT in August before two months later returning under the name Ashante Adonis. On the October 7 episode of NXT, Adonis won a rematch defeating The Brian Kendrick. The following week on the October 14 episode], Adonis lost a singles match against Jake Atlas.

205 Live (2020)[edit]

Miles debuted on the May 15 episode of 205 Live in a singles match lost to Tyler Breeze. He won his first singles match during the May 29 episode of 205 Live, defeating Danny Burch.

Smackdown Live (2020)[edit]

Miles returned to television on the August 21 episode of Smackdown Live losing a match against Drake Maverick. The following week on the August 28 episode of Smackdown Live, Miles wrestled and lost a singles match against The Brian Kendrick. The following month after a loss against Ariya Daivari on the September 4 episode of Smackdown Live, Miles returned to television under a new name. On the September 11 episode of Smackdown Live debuting as Ashante Adonis, he lost a rematch against The Brian Kendrick.
