From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  • {convert/old |145.11|-|145.12|F|C}} =
  • {convert| 145.11 |-|145.12 |F |C }} = 145.11–145.12 °F (62.84–62.84 °C)
  • Add more range symbols: The range words used in Template:Convert/old had redirects, such as for unicode mdash ("—"):
  • {convert/old |43|—|49|lb |kg }}       -
  • {convert/sandbox|43|—|49|lb|kg}}   - User:Wikid77/Template:Convert/new
  • {convert/old |55|±|2 |m }}       -
  • {convert/sandbox|55|±|2|m}}   - User:Wikid77/Template:Convert/new
Many people have used mdash ("—") in text, and hence use in ranges could be expected. -Wikid77 14:20, 25 December 2013 (UTC)
  • Treat plus/minus temperatures as relative: This has been a problem for years, with temperatures based on 32-degree shift:
  • {convert/old |212|±|2|F |C }}        -
  • {convert/sandbox|212|±|2|F|C}}    - 212 ± 2 °F (100 ± 1 °C)
  • {convert/sandbox|2|F-change}} - 2 °F (1.1 °C)
Temperature ranges should be fixed for "±" to show ±2 °F as ±1.1 °C, as the relative change. -Wikid77 14:20, 25 December 2013 (UTC)
