User:Wer900/Lycerius's 10-year-long game of Civilization II

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lycerius' 10-year-long game of Civilization II, the second installment in Sid Meier's Civilization series, is a saved file of the game which has been played intermittently over the past ten years. When it was announced by the Reddit user Lycerius on June 12, 2012,[1] the year within the game was 3991 AD,[2] and the in-game world had been ravaged by a war between three nuclear-armed mega-nations: the Celts, the Vikings, and the Americans.[3]

In-game situation[edit]

As of the posting of the game on Reddit, the world consisted of only three superstates which had between them conquered the rest of the world: the Celts, the Vikings, and the Americans, who have conquered every other civilization which had ever existed.[4]
