Minn Khant Kyaw Linn[edit]

Minn Khant Kyaw Linn (Burmese: မင်းခန့်ကျော်လင်း; born 26 May 1998) is an activist and student leader from Myanmar. He organized multiple general strikes in Mandalay and worked together with Tayzar San ,as a pioneer of 2021 Spring Revolution.[1] He is one of the founding members of Yadanabon University Students' Union - YDNBUSU and elected as joint secretary in central executive council of YDNBUSU.[2] He was also the representative of Myanmar (2019-2020) for ASEAN University Students Council Union. He is currently a member of General Strike Coordination Body - GSCB and managing nationwide strikes and campaigns against Myanmar military regime.

Early life and education[edit]

Minn Khant Kyaw Linn was born on 28 May 1998 in Mandalay, Myanmar. He received his high school education at TTC Mandalay and, majored in English Studies at Yadanabon University.

Student activisim[edit]

Minn Khant Kyaw Linn was active in student activism since he joined Yadanabon Univeristy in 2014. He was inspired by 2015 National Eduacation Law Student Strikes[3][4] and later joined All Burma Federation of Student Unions as a member in 2016. In 2017, he became one of the founding members of Yadanabon University Students' Union - YDNBUSU and elected as joint secretary & information officer until his exit in 2019.[5] Later, he became the representative of Myanmar for ASEAN University Students Council Union in 2019.

During his student life, he organized multiple events for Yadanabon University including memorial for Aung San and Thingyan Water festivals. He also founded Yadanabon University Literature Club & Yadanabon University Astronomy Club.

Political Activism[edit]

Following the 2021 Myanmar coup detat, Minn Khant Kyaw Linn rejoined Yadanabon University Students' Union - YDNBUSU and co-organized the strikes with Tayzar San in Mandalay[6]. He was one of the leading figures of Yadanabon University Strike Committee and later became spokesperson and founding member of Mandalay Based Universities Student Unions Strike Committee. He is currently working as a member of Anti-coup Forces Coordination Committe - Mandalay, which is founded by Tayzar San, and General Strike Coordination Body - GSCB.

Since National Unity Government of Myanmar started to work with interim councils of universities from Myanmar, he became one of the student representatives as a founding member of Interim University Council of Yadanabon University.[7] He is currently working with officials from Ministry of Education, National Unity Government as a student leader for federal education schemes and interim education programmes.
