In a direct line from one Vice-Commandant of the City of Copenhagen in the later 17th Century, a long list of distinguished Danish naval officers emerged – including four admirals and three captains. Many of these had the same name as their progenitor.

On the blockship Prøvestenen, Michael Bille personally fired the first shot of the battle of 2 April 1801.

1793-4 with Lougen in Danish West Indies. 1801 second-in-command of blockship Cronborg when he was wounded in the Battle of Copenhagen, but still assumed command after the death of the captain.
Recaptured Allart on 10 August 1809
Joined the Norwegian navy in 1814, at separation from Denmark

  1. ^ Just Bille's parentage is not recorded, but his son Daniel Ernst is recorded as a nephew on the father's side of Admiral Michel Bille
  2. ^ Charlotte Margrette married Anders Bille. Their son, Commander Daniel Ernst Bille (1770 - 1807) died unmarried
  3. ^ Mathias Bille died after a hurricane on Ireland’s NW coast.
