VADNAGAR Vadnagar is an ancient city situated in Gujarat State of India. Its known history goes back to 4,500 years. Recently archaeological excavations have brought to light remnants of a Buddhist stupa. The place has very high potential as a valuable archaeological site. In Mahabharata there are several references of Vadnagar, then known as Anartapur. Its warriors participated in the great war on the side of the Pandavas as well as the Kauravas.
