    • This is a review of the history of sport psychology that is referenced on the APA website and found from PsycINFO database. Although it was written in 1984, it should be able to corroborate or dispute some of the self-referenced material in the history section.
  • Malkin, V., Serpa, S., Garcia-Mas, A., & Shurmanov, E. (2020). New paradigm in modern sports psychology. Revista De Psicología Del Deporte, 29(2), 149-152.[2]
    • This is a peer-reviewed scientific journal. Although it has a low impact factor, it is a review that proposes that there should be a shift in the field from focusing on the mental states of athletes to building personality characteristics that would allow them to succeed.
