Review of semiprotected articles[edit]

Tranche 1[edit]

This is my first list of 20 semiprotected articles for review:

LEGEND:

  • magnet: an article which is intrinsically attractive to vandals
  • redirect: a semiprotected redirect
  • otrs: an otrs ticket was cited for semiprotection
  • lta: known to be long term abuse target.
  • blp: protecting admin cites BLP or libel concerns

A more efficient strategy[edit]

The problem with going through Special:protectedpages is that you have to identify the non-redirects for yourself and you also have to muck about looking at logs and stuff to identify likely unprotection candidates. Risker suggested looking at Wikipedia:Database reports/Indefinitely semi-protected articles, which is neatly divided into Redirects and Non-redirects, and provides the timestamp, the username of the protecting admin, and the log message, all on one line.

This gives a list of (currently) some 1960 non-redirect articles that are indefinitely semiprotected. --TS 07:19, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Tranche 5[edit]

Using the September 3rd edition of the "Indefinitely semi-protected articles" report, sorted by timestamp.

Unless stated otherwise, reviews take place on the talk page of the article. If there are no serious objections and an admin does not immediately unprotect, I then go to Wikipedia:Requests for page protection (WP:RFPP) to request unprotection if I think it's worth doing.
