Saint Olga of Kiev Catholic Secondary School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in Birmingham, in the West Midlands of England.

Introduction[edit]

The school opened in 2001 and celebrated its 20th anniversary in lockdown and resorted to an online zoom call for three hours consisting of games like "Minecraft". The school also held a "Social Detox Day" to celebrate the event, challenging the students to turn off electronics for a day and do something creative with their time.

The school currently teaches 946 pupils aged 11–16 and a further 300 pupils in the Sixth form.

Current Status[edit]

In 2006 the school applied to renew its bid as a performing arts college which was successful. It also has competed in numerous sporting events as a school across the West Midlands.

Currently, the school is being affected by the rules of lockdown in the UK and is being taught from online, using the platform [Classroom]

The School participates in the DofE - Year 10 pupils and above are able to achieve the Bronze and Silver award from the expeditions. In 2018 famous youtuber "Alexis" Quackity left after spending Sixth Form over in Saint Olga's.

Catholic partnership[edit]

Saint Olga of Kiev Catholic Secondary School is a Member of the Catholic Partnership, whose core purpose is to promote the Common Good, as outlined by the Bishops of England and Wales, in Birmingham's Catholic Secondary schools.

Admission criteria[edit]

11-16 education[edit]

Saint Olga of Kiev Catholic Secondary School is a Roman Catholic Voluntary Aided School serving, in the first instance, the local Roman Catholic Community. Pupils are normally admitted to the school between the ages of 11 and 16 years, the operative date being September 1 of the current school year. All pupils are expected to take part in Religious Education lessons. All the criteria apply for years 7 - 11 in the school.

The school accepts any religion and that will not affect application but anyy student that joins will be expected to respect our Catholic Teachings
