Plot

[edit]

The show deals with the story of Tiresias, a blind seer of Greek mythology, which is intertwined with the personal history of the writer, who was also blinded by illness. During the conversation, Andrea Camilleri, as Tiresias, converses with Homer, Horace, Seneca, Sophocles, Dante Alighieri, Guillaume Apollinaire, TS Eliot, Virginia Woolf, Jorge Luis Borges, Ezra Pound, Cesare Pavese and Primo Levi, as well as Woody Allen, who had played Tiresias in the film Mighty Aphrodite; Pier Paolo Pasolini, who had written him as a character in the screenplay of the film Edipo re (Oedipus Rex); and the band Genesis, whose song The Cinema Show,[3] with which the show opens, features Tiresias.
