Sihirli Annem, is a Turkish children fantastic TV show produced by Gamze Özer. The show is about the adventurous lives of the fairy Betüş, played by İnci Türkay and a single father of two Sadık played by Şahap Sayılgan after they marry each other. The first episode of the show was broadcasted on 27 February 2003 on Turkish channel Kanal D. After the 119th episode, in 2006 it was transferred to Star TV. The 4th season ended with the 131st epsiode. 5 years later, it started recontinued on Star TV by popular demand. After broadcasting 3 more seasons, the show was discontinued on 10 March 2012, episode 240th being the last episode. It is rumored that a sequel movie is to be released in the future.[1][2]
During the first 2 seasons, the show shattered the records by being number one in the ratings report for 36 times. [3] In 2004, the magazine of the show was published by Doğan Egmont. It won the "Most Creative Product/Brand Development Award". By 30 November 2011, the show has aired its 200th episode, thus making it the longest running sci-fi show in Turkey. According to Google Zeitgeist, it was in top 10 of the most researched Turkish TV shows on Google in 2011.[4]
