TAKSHAK
[edit]Takshak is an independent techfest run by students of Mar Athanasius College of Engineering,Kothamangalam. It was started in 2010 with the aim of providing a platform for students to showcase their technical skills. The team usually takes various technical activities and then organizes a Science and Technology festival each year usually in the month of september.
History
The very first edition of Takshak was in 2010. The underlying spirit of the competitions was "Imagine Create Proliferate" a motto that has been followed by every Takshak since. Takshak is an amalgamtion of the individual techfests of all the branches. Takshak saw the incorporation of Mace's department based events like Yantra,Aura,Exorior,Qbit and Createur.
The Event
Takshak 2011 marks a big milestone in the growth of Takshak as this was the year became Takshak an national event with the introduction of Pre summit to National Robo Congress by the Swadheshi Science Movement. It also saw the introduction of the robotics competition,ATV dirt Challenge for the first time in India.
Takshak 2011 is to be held from 29 September to 1 October 2011. It has entertainment edge to the festival with a new section called featured Scary House,Stunt Shows, etc. Some of the to be featured events for 2011 are the Power Engineer,Contraption.
Exhibition of Science and inventions of advanced Electrical devices,Takshak sports cutting edge technical exhibitions by ISRO,the Indian Navy
