Simeon Goulden is a British television writer and producer.

Early Life[edit]

Goulden was educated at Westminster School and the University of Manchester, where he obtained a First Class BA (Hons) degree in English Literature.

On leaving university, he studied Law at the University of Law and subsequently took up a training contract at Clifford Chance LLP in 1998, qualifying into Litigation and Dispute Resolution in 2000. He left Clifford Chance in 2004 to pursue a career in television writing. After a further stint as a part-time lawyer at Shearman & Sterling LLP from 2006 to 2010, he took up television writing full time.

Career[edit]

Goulden began his writing career writing topical jokes and sketches for BBC Radio 4, including Parsons & Naylor and Bearded Ladies. He subsequently wrote sketches for Armstrong and Miller. In 2008, he won Best Comedy script in the Page International Screenwriting Awards.

In 2011, he wrote episodes 3 and 5 of Season 4 of Secret Diary of a Call Girl[1]

Spy (TV Series)[edit]

Goulden is best known for creating, writing and producing the sitcom Spy on Sky 1, which won a Rose D'or[2] and was nominated for an International Emmy. The show's lead actor, Darren Boyd, won the BAFTA for his portrayal of the protagonist, Tim. The show was produced by Hat Trick Productions.

In 2013, Goulden shot the pilot of Spy for ABC Studios in Los Angeles.[3] The pilot was not picked up for broadcast.

In 2014, Goulden moved to Los Angeles where he developed scripts with Showtime (TV Network)[4], Sony Pictures, and Chelsea Handler Productions.

Personal Life[edit]

Goulden is married with two children.
