Jorge C. Lucero is a full Professor of computer science and mathematics at the University of Brasília and a scientist whose research focuses on voice and speech production. His research work is best known for the mathematical modeling, analysis and simulation of phonation.[1][2][3] He has published over 100 original research papers in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and conference proceedings, which have received over 950 citations,[4] and awards for Excellence in Phonoaudiology from the Brazilian Society of Phonoaudiology (2013, 2015). In addition, he is research fellow of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development of Brazil (CNPq) for research productivity.[5]

Lucero graduated in electrical engineering from the National University of Córdoba (Argentina, 1985) with a Diploma for Merits.[6] He was a graduate scholar of the Ministry of Education of Japan and received a Ph.D. (1993) in engineering from Shizuoka University. He was also postdoctoral fellow at both Queen's University and the University of Toronto (1996-1997), and associated researcher of the CNRS (France, 2010-2011).
